Geno Says CPS not being truthful...

Is this really @ cheating? The reason that I ask is because of a rumor I have heard from 2 people. I JUST asking to find out if this is true or at least has some traction out there.

Q: Did CGA accuse CPS of being gay to recruits (M. Moore), and that is what set CPS off?

I tried to ask this honestly on TOS and they kept erasing the Q. I'm not saying anything @ anybodys preferences here. I'm asking if anyone has heard this rumor as I have, and if it has any more legs than this.

It just seems weak that cheating is enough to start this fued. Cheating is going into recruiting @ 90% of the time it seems. I know we sent info to the NCAA @ them, but is it just cheating or was CGA making accusations @ Pat that pissed her off?

Just a Q folks.

I hadn't heard that one. I think there were some questionable things going on in Maya Moore's recruitment. Something about former UConn players and also a trip to ESPN. I don't know any specifics, but I remember hearing something along those lines.

As ironic as this sounds, I have absolutely zero interest in women's basketball. I don't hate it, I don't like it, I really could care less, but the irony is that this is the only story that I actually have insider knowledge on. I used to have a few good sources in the athletic department but I lost them when Dickey left.

Geno didn't claim Pat was gay. No one did. However it was pointed out, to Maya Moore's parents, how many gays were players and on staff. Also several players that never even hinted at being gay until they played here. Plus a pretty solidly based rumor of a player/coach relationship that was kept secret until after that players career was over.

I guess Maya's father doesn't have much confidence in her sexuality. Geno is definitely a low life, resorting to playing the gay card. Sounds like something Trooper would do. (he would call Briscoe)

It seems that Pat does not give any details when it repeatedly comes up. And if UConn was so unfair she would just keep riding that horse. Just seems a bit weird to sever the series and then go silent about it. At least say "until X Y or Z changes" we won't play.

The horse that Pat rides is on the high road. Luigi's is a sway back and far off the path.

I'm so sick of hearing about this. If Pat doesn't want to play UConn, she doesn't have to unless they run into each other in the tournament. She doesn't have to give any reason for it.

Get over it, Geno.

The end of the UConn series came from the recruiting of Maya Moore and these are the stories about that.

1) It has been said that Mrs Moore directly asked Pat for help finding a job and a house in Knoxville so she could move here when Maya came. Pat said she could not do that.
Maya ended up at UConn and Mrs Moore moved to Storrs. The inference is that Geno arranged a job and house for Mrs Moore.

2) Someone on the UConn staff arranged a private tour of ESPN studios for Maya and her Mom when she was on a visit to Storrs. It is suspected that Burke and Lobo gave Maya a personal tour of the facilities and that along with her stated desire to go into broadcasting and the job and house that Mrs Moore got were the key to her choosing UConn.

The ESPN tour and Mrs Moore moving to Storrs are FACTS. Mrs Moore started a Tote Bag business online and she makes gym bags for athletes with the UConn Logo. Is UConn paying Mrs Moore for these bags for their athletes?
Is ESPN in Bristol culpable in the illegal recruitment of a player to UConn using Lobo and Burke?

It is a fact that UConn player Caroline Doty reported that she had a Wendy's in Geno's office with Taurasi and Bird after both had graduated. She stated that the meeting with those former All-Americans is what made her sign with UConn. This was clearly a violation of the contact rules.

The gay card may or may not have been played but you can't put it past Geno.
Pat told Geno exactly why she was cancelling the series and the story is that it was because of the Maya Moore tour and the house and job for her mother.
Pat did Geno a favor by not making these stories public and damaging Maya or her mother.

That ESPN story was a bunch of bs put out by public relations until they decided how to best handle the truth. Even though women's bball has an unusually large amount of gay participants, its still a taboo subject.
Players have been touring ESPN for years, that's not an issue. Do you honestly believe Pat would break new ground and cancel the only money making rivalry in the sport over an infraction that caused Uconn no penalties?

I believe she cancelled it BECAUSE she guessed the infractions would not result in any other penalty. It was the only way for her to register her discontent with the situation.
The Lady Vols sell out and make money with their schedule with or without Yukon on the schedule and she doesn't need to give Gee-No any more attention.

1) Lady Vols do not make money.
2) Pat has given Geno more attention than ever.
3) ESPN story is bs.
4) I'm not a fan of the sport, I could care less, no agenda.
5) Geno, as well as 2 other sec coaches, have recruited against Pat claiming she has cultured a gay environment.

Pat has taken some shots across the bow at Geno. She and all LV fans better be ready for a rebuttal.

1)Of course the Lady Vols make money - even if the way expenses are accounted they spend more than they make
2)Pat doesn't give any attention to Gee-NO. the attention comes from ESPN and the other media not Pat
3)Many ESPN stories are BS and their agenda is to stir up crap wherever they can but it's particularly onerous given their proximity to Yukon *not sure which ESPN story you refer to here.
4)Your fanhood isn't at issue
5)I don't doubt that at all.
