It seems that voters in Los Angeles County have had enough of rogue prosecutor George Gascon’s policies, and are one step closer to showing him the exit.

On Thursday, the Recall Gascon team delivered 715,833 signatures of Angelenos to the Los Angeles County registrar-recorder, far exceeding the 566,000 signatures needed to put Gascon on the ballot this fall for a recall election.

On Saturday, Dean Logan, the controversial registrar-recorder, issued a press release confirming that their raw count of signatures submitted was 715,833. Logan’s office has until Aug. 17 to conduct a complete review and verification of the signatures in order to certify the recall.

If those signatures are officially verified and over the threshold amount, Gascon could be on the ballot for recall as early as November. If more than 50% of voters vote to recall Gascon, he will be removed from office, and a successor will be elected.

Gascon isn’t the only rogue prosecutor to face a recall this year. In June, San Francisco voters removed DA Chesa Boudin by a 55% to 45% margin . Boudin refused to prosecute drug and most property crimes, and he turned a blind eye to open-air drug markets, all of which contributed to a dystopian cityscape in San Francisco.

The only issue that I have with this story is its characterization of George Gascon as a "rogue prosecutor". There is nothing rogue about him. He is implementing the exact radical left playbook that Soros installed him in office to implement.

Los Angeles DA Gascón to Disband Unit That Notifies Victims of Their Assailant's Parole Hearings

Gascon's office said notifying victims is the responsibility of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Los Angeles County DA Gascon is disbanding a group of victim advocates and prosecutors in the DA’s office who notify victims and their family members about their assailant's parole hearings, sources tell Fox News.

The Parole Unit, also known as the "Lifer Unit," will be disbanded by the end of the year. The move comes after Gascon has banned prosecutors from attending parole hearings.

Gascon’s office confirmed the move to Fox News, saying that notifying the victims can be "triggering" to them, that it bogs down resources, and that ultimately, it is the responsibility of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Newsom says he Doesn't 'know enough' about Gascon's job performance to determine if he's doing a 'good job'

California Governor Gavin Newsom also said he's 'deeply concerned' with some of the criticism that Gascon has received

Newsom made the statement during an interview with FOX 11 Los Angeles, and added that he's "deeply concerned" with some criticism that Gascon has received.

"Is he doing a good job?," Newsom was asked.

"I don't know enough about the job he's done. I'm deeply concerned about the criticism," Newsom responded.

"We have expressed ourselves very publicly along those lines, including in Los Angeles as it relates to some of the issues happening with retail theft, some of the issues with what's happening on the railroad yards, and I've expressed my own issues privately as well and I'll leave the more objective analysis of his job to the locals," Newsom added.

Newsom's comments come amid a recall campaign aimed at ousting Gascon.

Just over a week after being attacked in broad daylight in downtown Los Angeles, Olympian Kim Glass is using her voice to advocate for change in criminal justice policies.

On "America's Newsroom" Friday, Glass shared her recovery process while also advocating for justice for other victims of her attacker, a repeat offender.

Last week, Glass was attacked with a metal bolt while walking by a homeless camp by 51-year-old Semeon Tesfamariam. He was a repeat offender out on parole despite felony charges in 2018 and 2019.

Taxpayers on Hook as Gascon brings in Nation's Highest-Paid Attorney in Legal Battle With His Own Prosecutors

LA DA Gascon is bringing in Neal Katyal, a former Acting U.S. Solicitor General who once represented Al Gore

Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon, whose own deputies sued him for permission to charge repeat offenders to the fullest extent of the law, has pulled out all the stops in his California Supreme Court appeal against them, retaining one of the nation’s top lawyers.

Neal K. Katyal, a former Acting U.S. Solicitor General who represented Al Gore in the 2000 election dispute and has appeared before the U.S. Supreme Court dozens of times, is also reportedly one of the country’s highest-paid attorneys.

Reuters reported in May that the Georgetown law professor and partner at Hogan Lovells was charging as much as $2,465 an hour to represent a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson in a bankruptcy case. At the time, that was more than the $2,295 an hour former Attorney General Eric Holder was billing.

So all of a sudden signature verification is important. How novel?

I wonder if it will be disputed. I would think I’m a recall effort of this magnitude, those leading the recall would check for duplicates before submitting the signatures.

L.A. Claims 27% Error Rate in Recall Signatures; < 1% Error Rate in Mail-in Ballots in 2020

Los Angeles County reported Monday that over 27% of the signatures submitted on petitions to recall District Attorney George Gascón were invalid — after reporting that less than 1% of mail-in ballots were invalid in the 2020 election.

The county reported that it rejected 195,783 of the 715,833 signatures submitted, roughly 27.3%. The reasons given included that some voters were found to be unregistered; incorrect addresses were given; or signatures did not match those on file.

However, in January 2021, the county reported that less than 1% of the 3,422,585 vote-by-mail ballots submitted were rejected. The test for the validity of ballots is similar to that of petitions, involving checking signatures and addresses.

Effort to recall Los Angeles DA Gascon Not Over, grassroots group says

The campaign to recall Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon will regroup and begin to sort through 46,807 invalid voter signatures that doomed an effort to oust the beleaguered prosecutor in a future election.

The registrar-recorder’s office announced Monday that the campaign failed to deliver 566,857 valid signatures to qualify for an election. This is the second time in two years that a grassroots coalition has sought to remove Gascon from office over claims that he caters to criminals instead of victims.

But the volunteers are not ready to give up yet and are suspicious of the county’s tally given Gascon’s support among local elected officials. The bipartisan recall was backed by the prosecutors union, which included 98% of the attorneys in the office, law enforcement, victims, and 37 cities, including Beverly Hills.

People signing petitions outside of PetSmart are probably not going to be anywhere near as eligible as those actually placing a vote. I don't see how this is surprising

Smash and Grab! Brazen Thieves steal liquor worth thousands of dollars from Los Angeles store - with security standing by idly as Looters cause chaos in Dem-led city which failed to recall woke DA George Gascon

A group of brazen thieves were caught barging into a busy Los Angeles grocery store and stealing thousands of dollars worth of liquor as a security guard stood by idly.

The shocking video shows a gang of robbers snatching bags and armloads filled with bottles from a store before fleeing out the exit into broad daylight, amid the county's woke District Attorney failing to be recalled.

Two bandits in hoodies were rampaging throughout the liquor section of as stunned bystanders watched the chaotic scenes unfold.

Despite the mayhem, an idle security guard was seen standing a distance away from the thieves without interfering - in the county that is known for its lenient criminal policies.
