Obviously we are going into this game as underdogs. On the defensive front, we really need a game like we played against Oakland. As long as UT's help defense is decent and they switch effectively, we should do really well against this offense. If UT forgets their assignments or doesn't play smart, they'll have a lot of nice open shots/ layups because they are for sure going to back door cut and screen us to death. Coach John Thompson III gets a lot of credit for his defense but I love to watch them operate out of the halfcourt. Didn't someone mention seeing UT in a 3-2 the other night? If so, would make perfect sense against an offense like this. This is the kind of team I wish we would push the pace on a little.

I think Tennessee has a lot of confidence after the Oakland game. I feel like this will carry over to this game and we'll come out and surprise them. It's important that UT can jump on them early.

I noticed Indiana was able to give them trouble with a zone, they forced some turnovers that way. Georgetown did shoot the 3 surprisingly well over it in that game, weird given their size. They didn't double Zeller in the post like I thought they would, mostly used their length to keep the ball out of his hands. I would anticipate a similar gameplan for Stokes, but if we can break down the D and get it inside then good things will happen.

While they are big across the board our true bigs, Jarnell & Kenny (especially Jarnell) should really out man their bigs.

I think the key is gonna be our rebounding and outside shooting. If we win the rebounding battle and shoot 40+% from three I think we come away with the W.

Have to admit, I'm very curious to see what we do defensively...starting Mcbee at the 2 against a 6'8" guy is going to be interesting.

Gameplan should include keeping a good pace up. I noticed Indiana pushes the ball up the floor quickly after a make or a miss and tries to penetrate quickly or get it deep to seller early. We should do the same. If we are walking it up the floor and letting them dictate pace, it could look like ok st.

Georgetown was drastically underrated during the preseason. They're the real deal. See the IU game as solid proof. Good luck! You need to make up ground for our unfortunate loss. :)

Most important stat for GTown:

"- - They have a young team (10 Freshmen and Sophomores)"

If anything makes away games like this winnable, it's taking an experienced team in to play an inexperienced one.

UT is going to need a good game from McRae, because Golden won't be able to do it on the perimeter by himself. Knowing JT3, he's going to try and lock down Stokes early and make UT earn it from the perimeter. I'm really looking forward to this one, I hope the Vols can pull it out.

bingo! We have been in this situation before so going to d.c. should not scare this team. If we play good defense, we'll at least be in this game. I wouldn't be shocked to see JT lll start this game in a zone type of defense to test our outside shooting. This one is gonna be tough
