Georgia dismisses another projected starter

Muschamp’s best team at UF lost to Mark Richt’s best team at UGA.

I’m of the opinion that Smart is a better coach than Richt, and it’s been proven that Smart is a better recruiter than Richt...and Richt was a very good recruiter.

This is different.
What has Kirby shown you thus far that makes you think he's a better coach than Richt? Better recruiter, yes, that is clear, but 2016-18 Kirby looks quite similar in terms of on the field results to 2001-03 Richt, even down to some of the specific losses and where their final ranking was. Richt in all likelihood would have been in a CFP in his second year had one existed (Georgia was #4 in the BCS after winning the SECCG), just like Kirby.

I'll admit that Kirby's teams seem to have more of a ruthlessness or "killer instinct" about them that Richt's never seemed to have, but that's just a feeling or vibe more than anything given they have totally different personalities. It certainly hasn't been borne out on the field...yet.

And don’t forget that Richt went up against some seriously good Florida teams, when Florida was “it” in the conference. He caught the tail end of Spurrier’s really good 2001 team, got a reprieve with Zook, and then ran into the Meyer era. Kirby hasn’t faced an SEC east with a really great Florida program, yet. He lost to Mac in 2016, but nobody calls that Florida team great.

Florida’s resurgence will make it decidedly more difficult for Kirby, which is why UGA fans are so resistant to the idea that Mullen may be on the verge of bringing UF all the way back.

Yep. 13 arrests and 9 transfers this offseason after getting their asses handed to them by Texas, after Kirby begged to be included in the playoff. They’ve had a bad run.

13 arrests? I remember 6 (bad enough but hey at least it isn't murder or credit card fraud). 9 transfers? try 7 of which only 3 weren't either kicked off the team or told it was times to go their separate ways. Oh and your team has 10 and can't even keep true freshmen on the team before they jump ship. Maybe you should worry about what is going in uf country...aka the title IX investigation, John Huggins choking a school tutor, etc. before you post. Hell if UGA had the morals of uf, Holloman would still be on the team. I mean Mullen has a documented history of keeping players with a history of beating women on the team before, why stop at uf. Don't you hate those things call facts?

Yea. I'm of the opinion that Mullen will end up having a better time at Florida than Kirby at UGA. I think Mullen is a bit goofy, but I think he understands coordinators have to be quality and he needs to let them do their job.

Kirby comes off as an absolute control freak. He seems like he needs to have his say in every single decision made. I think he is a bit of a Will Muschamp when it comes to the offense and FL fans know how well that worked for Champ' when he was at FL. Kirby is out-talenting everyone right now not named Clemson or Bama. We will see how long he can make it work well like that. I think him not going out and grabbing top class coordinators after Chaney and Tucker left will come back to haunt him down the road.

Georgia has been a total mess since Kirby’s arrival. They’ve had multiple arrests every year that he’s been there. You’d think Kirby would at least have some national titles to show for his criminal roster, but as we all know, he doesn’t. Georgia is currently #3 in the Fulmer Cup standings, and Kirby admits he’s done a poor job with the Georgia culture. Chew on these facts:

Don't you hate those things call facts?

Here are some more facts for ya:

14,096 days. 😭
1980. 😂
52 arrests since 2010. 🚨
1 conference title since 2006. 🤣

“Almost National Champs” doesn’t get you a seat at the Big Table in the SEC, with the schools who have won REAL national titles in the last 20 years. Now get back on the porch and send some more starters to the transfer portal.

Their best WR dismissed, their projected starter at OLB dismissed and a whole lot of other attrition in between. We’re not talking about 3rd and 4th stringers who have never played a down simply transferring, we’re talking about dudes were were pencilled-in as ones and twos on the depth chart.

Florida can beat Georgia, I sure would like to see more UT fans becoming convinced that they too can beat Georgia.
I wish I could say that but We the fans do not play the game....I am sure the TEAM believes it can beat UGA...At least I hope so....I am not confident UT can beat UGA this year but I think we will give them all they can handle....Really depends on if we can stop the passing game.

Anyone find it ironic that a Gator is bashing a Bulldog on thug culture? Give me a break.

So one link talks about the 6 arrests but your cute fulmer cup link states 12 in 2019 which is completely false so your "facts" seem to be fighting amongst themselves.

But here is some more for ya .. of the 6 arrests UGA has had, Beal and Cox were arrested at the same time for less than one ounce of marijuana in their dorm (which was suspiciously room 420 .. no joke), Tyler Simmons and Tyrique Stevenson were arrested when a bar fight ended up outside and the reports of them being actually involved in the fight are sketchy. Latavious Brini was arrested for slapping a dude at a night club. Jaden Hunter was arrested for illegally parking a car and having a suspended license.

I know these are terrible offenses but coming from you who's coach is harboring a guy (Huggins) who had multiple instances now of battery (the legal definition isn't assault) on a tutor with pulling her hair one moment then on a different day then choking incident happened. Brian Edwards arrested for domestic battery. And who can forget your boy Jalon Jones. Or cyber-stalker Otis Yelverton. But then again, Mullen didn't have the cleanest record at MSU either but I guess he brought that to MSU from his time with Urban at UF.

In other words, are you serious dude?!?!?!? Go on to any Gator board and it's pretty obvious how the fan base feels about this offseason being a wreck for UF.

Georgia is in trouble this year, not that their fans will admit it
Brenton Cox will wind up somewhere else for sure. The trouble with UGA is that only 11 can be on the field at a time. Cox saw the handwriting on the wall and couldn't see himself getting lost on the depth chart. Can probably start at 8 other SEC schools. Go to the B12 and he might even win the Heisman.

Read a little closer on the Fulmer Cup
Rankings, it’s based off points for severity of the offenses, that’s where the number 12 came from. In all fairness, I was confused by that too at first, but the site is not claiming 12 arrests, but 12 points. At any rate, Georgia is 3rd in that list. Not good.

And the couple of Florida issues you mentioned, none have been charged, none have been prosecuted and none of those players are still with the team, except Huggins who is currently suspended.

Neither of our teams are loaded with angels and saints, but this particular offseason has been worse for Georgia.

Anyone find it ironic that a Gator is bashing a Bulldog on thug culture? Give me a break.

Because Georgia is full of saints and choir boys and because Georgia never bashes Florida, right? So Florida is supposed to sit and stay mute when Georgia has issues.

Give ME a break.

Not been charged but they’re gone anyway...so points. 😎

Regurgitating same old news. Huggins’ alleged issue was well-known weeks ago, amazing it’s brought back up after the Brenton Cox situation hits the news. Fortunately for you, Georgia beat writers seem to have the best interests of the program at heart most of the time. The Florida beat writers are a bunch of jackass sellouts.

The right move, especially when they’re non-contributors. Edwards was the only one who may have helped on special teams, the rest were wasting scholarships.

So guilty/not guilty irrelevant cuz they suck?

It's usually just best to stay quiet when your rival has issues because odds are you have them (or will have them) at some point in the future. No fan, especially fans of big time programs, really has room to talk or play the "We aren't as bad as you are" game.

It’s bad to say, but that’s actually mostly true. And not just at UF, but just about anywhere. Saban has done it, Urban Meyer, Dabo, Jimbo, etc. I raised holy hell about Jamies Winston playing at FSU with real and serious rape allegations. We’re not talking one of these he said/she said, boyfriend/girlfriend jealousy spats, we’re talking forcible rape allegations with all sorts of witnesses and video cameras, etc. He played the whole season. If he were 3rd team safety, he woulda been gone. And Saban has too many similar examples to count. Doesn’t make it right, but that’s the way it is.

I agree with this, very good advice. And that’s usually my approach, I think this year I just got a little tired of the “Georgia is the Bama of the East” and can do no wrong narrative coming from the Finebaum’s of the world, as we saw player after player arrested, in the portal, etc.

Players having issues happens to all big programs. If yours hasn’t had one in a while, that just means you’re due.

AJ Johnson didn’t suck and was found not guilty. Took awhile for that to be official and cost him the rest of his senior season and what should have been the beginnings of his pro career. We paid two million+ for zero convictions and Lil Jon music lyrics...and that was before the #MeToo movement was underway. Happy football! 😉

I think the "Bama of the East" moniker comes from the level of their recruiting over the last couple of years and how they've dominated the division on the field, not because his roster is full of choir boys and nobody gets in trouble. I don't think anybody has ever said that Saban has that reputation; Saint Nick has had guys get in trouble, guys transfer, etc.

There are instances where a particular team actually probably is "out of control" and the level of trouble is elevated beyond what is typical (think Fulmer in the mid 90s then again in the mid 2000s, Florida the entire time under Urban, Georgia at various times under Richt, etc.) but I don't believe there are huge discrepancies in that regard among teams.

Regurgitating .. the tweet just came out this morning. And thank you for the clarification on the fulmer cup stuff .. but you can't justify the series of abuses against women (4 actually, not a couple) by saying they aren't with the team. They happened WHILE they were with the team and we don't know the full extent of Huggins crap so far. As far as none have been charged, that's entirely not true as Yelverton, Jones and Edwards were all charged. Heck, two of ours aren't on the team anymore either with their little charges but I guess 3 players and one recruiting staffer committing stalking or assault and battery on women isn't as bad as under an ounce of pot, driving with a suspended license or an altercation outside of a night club.

Glad you brought this up. I am guessing you live in Florida as I do as well. I don't know about other states but in Florida you can not legally have sex with a woman who is intoxicated if she says after the fact that she didn't want to. Winston admitted to having sex with that chick and every surveillance video of her prior to her and Winston being together showed her completely drunk. The very definition of rape at that point but somehow Tallahassee PD sweeps it under the rug. And I am a Bucs fan too but rape is still rape no matter who it is.
