Nobody has mentioned much about the Georgia game today. Are people not that interested and think the Vols will sweep, or is everyone a little hesitant to open their mouths about this one?

I for one am a little hesitant. This will be the second road game in a row, after a huge win at Rupp and Georgia is a better team than the last time we played. Not to mention the huge bulls eye that we have on our back now being # 11 in the nation and the pressure to win this one to possibly move into the top 10. This is the kind of game that Georgia needs to get back on the tourney track.

The thing that worries me that most is that the Vols have been talking about the "lack of respect" thing. I didn't feel bad about this game until I read that.

Having said that, I believe that Coach Pearl will have them ready to go again. I've pretty much worried about every game this season and all they do is win.

So what do you all think? I'm not really asking for predictions, just the general feeling. What's up?

I'm expecting some losses (2 or 3) before the NCAAs.

Unless we don't win again - we're in the tourney. Roadies at UF and UA will be tough. Ark, UK and Vandy will also be tough. That said, a loss against UGA or Auburn might get us through that UA/UF/Ark stretch.

If we finish with 2 or less losses over the next games - we'll be so far beyond expectations its crazy and likely still a 3 seed.

Personally, I'd rather lose at UGA than at UA or UF.

we'll beat UGA, Auburn, Kentucky, and Alabama.

Lose to Florida. Arkansas is a toss up to me.

I don't know - but I can easily imagine this TN team running the tables from here to the SEC tournament. I said they didn't have a chance against TX. I said that they would drop the game in Lexington. I doubted them against FL. This team has proven that they can outlast any team in the SEC - whether on the road or not. They have the energy to go the distance. The pace that this team keeps up is just amazing.

No - I don't think this is a Final Four team. But, I give up doubting this team can beat anybody. I thought this was a .500 SEC team (along with a lot of others). But, they have exceeded all expectations. I just don't know at what point they will stop overachieving. Maybe I sound like I've already drunk the Kool-aid, but I just give up being a doubter. I've found out that I eat my words more when I pick against this team than for them.

Man they just keep on winning and winning. Every road game in the SEC is a tough game, if they keep playing like they have and shoot well it should be a good day in Athens. :w00t: :w00t:

But no, the Vols say, they don't believe everyone is buying into their success, despite their No. 11 national ranking, 17-3 overall record and 8-1 SEC mark.

"A lot of people probably still don't think we're that good,'' UT guard JaJuan Smith said. "A lot of people are saying Kentucky is having a bad season.''

UT senior Andre Patterson said the Vols are taking it one game at a time, but he can't help but notice the Gators are getting more respect than UT despite the Vols' win in that head-to-head match up.

"A lot of people are not giving us respect,'' Patterson said. "There are people on TV saying Florida is a better team.''

Major Wingate sighed heavily when asked if the win over Kentucky would silence any remaining critics.

"I hope so,'' Wingate said. "I hope all the doubters bet their house against us, so they can go somewhere else.''

I don't really see anything in those remarks except a reporter trying to bait them into smack talk. If they start wearing sunglasses and calling themselves egotistical names, THEN, I'll worry.

I'm confident in Pearl that he won't let the boys buy into all of that "well, no one respects us" stuff and he'll have'em ready today in Athens. I expect it'll be a tough, close game considering it's a road SEC game against an improved opponent, but I also think UT can win this one by 5 or 10 points. Think it'll be like the SC game in Knoxville and the game against UK, close throughout, but the Vols pull away late.

I have to admit I am a little nervous about this one coming off the Kentucky win.

I'm nervous about every game from here on out. Now losing means something. It's different when you have already lost 10 games by this point. Being ranked 11 puts some pressure on. I'll take it though. Overall I think our guys will be fine today.

I'm not nervous at all. This games are nothing but prep for the big dance. A couple of losses here and there will give the team something to work on, point out some weaknesses, etc. I dont want to see them not lose another game before the tournament. A couple of losses wont hurt anything and will probably help get UT better. UT is a lock for the tournament.

I've said before, every game I just keep hoping I don't wake up.

Did Wingate see WesCharge's thread here on VN or what?!?! :birgits_giggle: Coach isn't going to let this team to get complacent... he'll keep pushing them until they're "puking in buckets".
