Georgia offensive lineman Clint Boling was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Alpharetta last week, according to police reports.
Boling, 19, was pulled over after driving erratically on Ga. 120 at 1:30 a.m. May 14. Boling told the police he was not drinking and refused to take a breathalyzer. Boling has hired an attorney.
Georgia coach Mark Richt, who is in the Middle East, said he will not address the matter until he returns.
Athletics department policy mandates that a player who has been involved in an alcohol-related arrest miss 10 percent of the next season, meaning Boling would miss at least the opener Aug. 30 against Georgia Southern.
Boling's case also will be reviewed by the university's Office of Judicial Programs.
If he is found guilty, the university's student code of conduct dictates that he will be put on probation for the next school year. Another alcohol-related arrest in the next six months would result in suspension from school.
Boling played in 12 games and made 10 starts for Georgia as a freshman. He was named to the All-SEC freshman team and is a projected starter for the 2008 season.
Cornerback Donavon Baldwin and fullback Fred Munzenmaier were arrested in January, with Baldwin charged with DUI and improper driving, and Munzenmaier with underage possession of alcohol and being a pedestrian in a roadway.
Baldwin is suspended for the opener. Munzenmaier is suspended for that game and the Bulldogs' Sept. 6 game vs. Central Michigan.
