Beat Vandy with last second field goal then stomp on "V" at midfield right in front of Vandy coach. Guess a big win for GA in eastern cellar game...looks like Georgia and Kentucky football programs have changed places for years to come.

Richt freaked out, but I didn't really think it was all that blatant. They hit a game winning FG and started celebrating and the celebration just sort of gravitated toward the middle of the field. There might have been several players stomping the V, but it wasn't like there were 30 players having a ho-down on the logo.

Richt showed a lot of class stopping the whole thing before the rest of the team could join in. I think you're right,GA, no real malice intedned, just where they happened to be at the time.

More than a few. Looked like a dozen or so. Richt was hacked. Guess players excited cause Vandy beat them last year but that was awful.

I heard they weren't really stomping on the V, but were actually engaged in some sort of Satanic ceremony.

Seems to me that beating Vandy on a last second field goal is one where you sneak off the field, not celebrate at mid-field.

Of course Vandy giving them the game when they fumbled at the 10 with 2:43 to play I'm sure Richt was glad to get out of Nashville with that let alone some UGA players trying to rub it in.

I gained a lot of respect for Richt. That was great of him to stop that un-sportsman like crap. If it was Urban, he would have been out there with them.

I think Richt was more upset that they were going wild and celebrating about beating VANDY.

I guess some of you are too young to remember Ga stomping on the T at Neyland. Yes MR was the coach. His actions had nothing to do with class, he's afraid of retliation next year, just like the Vols did it. He even referenced that in his comments.

I remember a few of the UTK players standing on the Power T after UGA whipped them in 2005 while the UGA players laughed at them from the sidelines. The suggestion was that the Vols showed no heart in the game but then decided to man-up in defense of the mid-field logo. Didn't quite understand that one. As I recall, it was 2003 when the UGA players danced on the Power T en masse.

I'd say UGA will be back next year, but they seem to really lack team speed and that is not something you can coach.

Sounds like he was embarassed that Vandy has become an actual rival to his team. :lolabove:

After seeing his reaction, I'm betting that doesn’t happen again anytime soon.

when asked about it in a post game interview, richt apologized to the vandy fans, saying, "we don't do that. we did it in 2001 (edit: wonder what he is referring to there?) but that is not what we are about." or something to that effect.

i thought it was a classy move on his part. looked to me like a large group was forming at the V and richt busted it up quick. i wonder if he will be chastised as politically incorrect for shoving one of his players?

Typical Vandy. Georgia should have lost the game...but Vandy fumbled the ball away, inside the Georgia 15 yard line and with less than a little more than 2 minutes to go.

It was there first win over an east opponent since the beginning of last year when they beat South Carolina. Im surprised they didnt bust out the bubbly.

It took the officials protecting the T last week to keep the UGA players off before the game started.
