I wanted to highlight some benefits of this closed exhibition with GT.

-SEC officiating crew is handling this game

-GT will be a great test for this team early on to see how much they have developed over the summer

-Exhibition will be treated as a road game (being played at UTC) so this is a useful experience for the new guys

-A closed setting like this is a good opportunity for the teams to stop the game at certain points and collaborate, it helps both teams.

-The improved competition level will better prepare us for Puerto Rico

- New players will be thrown into the fire against a very experienced ACC team

I'm excited about the outcome of this game. I think playing against/with a top tier ACC team will pay dividends in the long run. I usually don't get excited about early season matchups, because it's about who's hot from January-March, but I think this can do nothing but good for this team. It will be good to get an early season glimpse of where the team is.

Georgia Tech isn't as good as they have been in the past. They are rebuilding.

But this is a really good opportunity for UT. Congrats to CCM and the AD for deciding to take a situation to make the team better instead of taking some cheap money for a meaningless exhibition game.

Is the game in TBA? Sunday, 28th? what time? is it on tv? I know I am asking a lot of questions, but my in laws are all GT alum, and I would love to watch this game with them.

They bring everyone back (I think) from a pretty poor team last season. 11-20 and 4-12 in the ACC.

In their last game, against Miami in the ACC tourney, they scored 36 points.

Should be a nice tune-up game for the Vols, regardless.

Quinn spent a lot of time in Nooga, he has said he's gonna do his best to get ahold of stats some way some how...the coaches can't publicly release them, but don't be surprised if they get leaked.

But it's supposed to be media-free, right? Or am I not remembering correctly?

You're correct, but Quinn said he has buddies there...he'd do what he could to get stats, I think meaning maybe some UTC assistnats will be watching or something.

Also, like I said, it wouldn't surprise me if a coach "accidentally" dropped a stat sheet behind.

Anyone know people in the IT department at UTC? See if they can setup a secret camera.

GT won't be a complete pushover...should finish around 6th or 7th in the ACC this year.

Return virtually everyone...and added some big recruits.

Program appears to be on the turnaround.
