That would be a good hire imo. GA’s yearly schedule will be a lot tougher with Freeze at AU and Fritz at Tech.

Can’t believe he’s jumping to bad program like Tech. Career killer job.

Seriously? He's 62 years old already and he's 41-45 with Tulane. He's had exactly 1 impressive season out of 7 and he was 2-10 last year. Pretty uninspiring hire. They are turning themselves into Vanderbilt.

They could've done better than this.

Deion's big break needs to be at a school with crazy NIL potential.
Hope it is not in the SEC.
He is a coaching wildcard. It will be The U 2.0

Willie Fritz is a good hire but since he's 62 years old he may not be a long term hire. I think his hire is similar to GT hiring Pepper Rodgers from UCLA in December 1973.

I know.........Good coach as well.

Also coached The Memphis Mad Dogs (CFL team)

He was really quite interesting in his life. Ga native. 1952 Natty QB for TEch under Bobby Dodd. Got drafted by the Colts, but finished a degree then went to hte Air Force and was a pilot. Was an assistant coach at the academy while serving. Was Kansas coach in their only share of the Big8 title ever. coached Mark Harmon at QB as head coach of UCLA. VP of football operations for the Redskins up until his retirement. Man did everything.

Career killer? He’ll be 63 when the season kicks off next September. He’s in the sunset of his career anyway, he now gets the opportunity to coach a P5 program. Seems like a pretty easy decision.

Yep, and he gets to pad to the retirement nest whether he wins or not.

They lost to Northern Illinois last year. Fritz took a team that was staying in a Birmingham hotel and using Bamas practice facility, to Norman and was one play away from beating Riley. He also just beat Fickell. This is a great hire for Tech if they get 8-9 years and he seems to be in good health. Also their math requirement already makes them the Vandy of the ACC. There are certain athletes they can’t recruit. Still a proud program and a fun game atmosphere. And none of what I said matters. They aren’t hiring him anyway.

Interesting. So apparently another CFB media person jumped the gun on a hire this season.

Brent Key would be a better hire IMO, but still think they should go after Dan Mullen or Jamie Chadwell first.

They hit up 10-12 prospects. Got alot of No's due to lack of gaurunteed monies and such, and they owe Collins $11mil. TEch has a small check book.
