Actually Gavol, you are wrong on this one. Dominique Wilkins came out a year early in 82. The next year (82-83) the Georgia team, lead by Vern Fleming, James Banks and others, suprised everyone by winning the SEC C'ship and going all the way to yhe NCAA final four.

The above senario always reminded me of when we lost Peyton and the following year (1998) exceeded expectations.
