Hasn't been discussed a lot on the boards but the GOP is going to control redistricting in about half the country now. Definite long-lasting benefit.

This will help where republicans are the majority in
state legislatures, unfornately those areas solidly
controled by democrats will continue to send a
majority of dhimmis to Washington.

For instance here is Barney Frank's gerrymandered
district:

Massachusetts%27s_4th_congressional_district.gif

Not one state in those eleven who owe the most
money per capita elected anyone but a Democrat
to represent them in Washington.

Those eleven states are, with their per capita debt
in parentheses, in order:

Connecticut ($4,490)

Massachusetts ($4,323),

Hawaii ($3,675),

New Jersey ($3,621),

New York ($2,981),

Delaware ($2,128),

Washington ($2,087),

Illinois ($1,877),

Rhode Island ($1,812),

California ($1,805).

Oregon ($1,606).

Why should the people who live in states that are
fiscally responsible have to bail out the people in
states who are not??

Note too from the above list that they are among
the richest states of the union, why should the
poorer states have to reward the fiscal irresponsiblity
of the richer states??

Here is what should happen to states who have to
default on their loans:

Congress should invoke Article IV, Section 4 of the
Constitution, where the federal government
guarantees the states a republican government.

The state should lose its statehood and be demoted
to territorial status.

Its senators and congressmen should be expelled
from Congress.

Its governor, legislature and judges should be fired
and replaced by traditional territorial governance
from Washington.

The federal government should call a constitutional
convention for the territory, or perhaps split the
territory into more governable units and have each
new territory hold a constiutuional convention.

From there the usual procedures would be followed
in admitting new states.

Hopefully the republican party can learn something
from the tea party and furthermore if they don't learn
then they are in for a big downfall because there will
be third party candidates in the future that will draw
heavily from the republicrat vote but fewer from the
dhimmis which will probably shift power back to the
dhimmi side of the house isle, maybe even give them
back a filibuster proof senate again. (unthinkable)

Bottom line is that the republicrat elites had better
listen to their base or suffer the consequences.

For instance read this:

“Sadly, in California, Republican leaders tried to
campaign to the left of the Democrats and the
result was disastrous. While the rest of the country
was celebrating historic Republican gains (including
a net gain of at least 61 U.S. House Seats, 6 U.S.
Senate Seats, 680 state legislative seats, 19 state
legislatures and seven governors), the statewide
Republican ticket in California imploded and Republicans
actually lost a legislative seat in the Assembly.

Republicans nationally now hold more state legislative
seats than in any year since 1928, except in California
were they hold fewer than at any time since 1978!”
- - Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA4), November 4, 2010

So we find the the daughter of the rino Juan McLame
is completely FOS as to how the republican party
should chart it's future.

Many thinking Americans are highly upset, not only
with the dhimmis but with the republicrats as well
and the tea party does have it's share of disgruntled
democrat voters and all is not well inside the dhimmi
circle of ruling elites.

For instance the democrat candidate for the office
of governor of Rhode Island told obambi to stuff his
endorcement after Barry endorced the independent
rino Lincoln Chaffee.

As a matter of fact Lincoln Chaffee was mentioned
the last time the RNC called me asking for a campaign
contribution. One of the things that I told them
was 'never again', as long as they supported rinos
like Chaffee instead of a real republican and they
did just that again this year in several states, most
notable Delaware in which Rove and company
sabotaged their own republican party candidate
after she beat thier rino candidate in the primary.

Along that line it has come to light that Bush and
company are sabotaging Palin who is far closer to
mainstream America than eastern elites like the
Bush family will ever be.

Let me see if we've got this straight...

The BLUE states are in the RED.

But the RED states are in the BLACK.

And the BLUE states spend so much on
enviromental GREEN, they don't have enough GREEN
money to get them in the BLACK.

Maybe the dhimmirats just put too much emphasis
on COLOR.

Republican states have long been the "welfare states".

Dhimmicrats are fond of saying that but the truth is that what you say is far from whole picture.

As Reagan said; "The trouble with our liberal friends is that so much of what they know isn't so."

They're fond of saying it because it's true. Look up how much each state pays and receives that is "the whole picture". Ronald Reagan was an idiot.

I don't have to look it up, I am well aware of the
simplistic, propagandistic, bean counter map that
is an exercise in selective bean counting.

Zombie Gerrymandering 101

Republicans not only won a record number of federal races, they also utterly crushed the Democrats in local races, winning at least 675 seats in state legislatures.

This spells doom for the Democrats because next year the states will re-draw the congressional district lines to accommodate the results of the 2010 census:

When the 2010 Census results are announced next month, the 435 House seats will be reapportioned to the states, and state officials will draw new district lines in each state. …

Republicans look to have a bigger advantage in this redistricting cycle they’ve ever had before.
----------------------------------------

If that’s not a problem enough for Democrats, it’s about to get a lot worse. Republicans had their wave election at a very convenient time, putting themselves in position to control numerous state legislatures and thus control the next round of redistricting, which will last a decade.

Partisan gerrymandering can be an extremely powerful tool, and combined with the natural geographic gerrymander, can give Republicans an overwhelming advantage, if not quite an absolute lock.
--------------------------------------------

The reason even most liberals are keeping mute about the horrors of the upcoming Republican gerrymandering is that Democrats have been the most ardent practitioners of it whenever they’ve had the slightest chance.

You may have wondered how America overall tends to prefer conservative policies (pollsters like to say “We’re a center/right country”) yet we often have a liberal or at least Democratic majority in the Congress.

How can this be? Gerrymandering. It’s so powerful that it has at times fundamentally altered the political slant of our government. Many of the worst gerrymandered districts illustrated in tomorrow’s Part II of this essay (“The Top Ten Most Gerrymandered Congressional Districts in the United States” — don’t miss it!) are the handiwork of Democratic politicians, so the Democrats would have no leg to stand on if they were to now turn around and criticize the Republicans for doing what they’ve been doing for decades — centuries, even.

The Republicans have done it too, of course, but in the majority of states in recent cycles, the Democrats have had the advantage, and they’ve not been ashamed to use it.
-----------------------------

But these gerrymandering strategies can backfire — as they did in 2010, spectacularly. Which explains how the Republicans managed to win so many seats in a nation significantly gerrymandered by Democrats.

What happened is this: Over the years, Democrats in many states created many congressional districts in which they diluted Republican voters to approximately 45% of the electorate, thinking this a safe margin for Democratic politicians to win every future election. But in a “wave year,” enough disgusted swing voters abandon the party in power and (at least temporarily) switch allegiances, and suddenly the 45%-and-no-more squandered Republican vote climbs over the 50% mark. Boom.

Gerrymandering has blown up in the Democrats' faces.

The Red states on the black because they take more federal money. There is no fiscally responsible government and any attempt to claim otherwise is pure bullspit.
