I guess there aren't a lot of Beatles fans on the board, and I'm late to the party, but just started this. Its incredible. Watching them come up with some of their greatest songs in real time gave me chills. Very cool to see them just vibing and creating music.

Watching and hearing songs quickly develop from a rough idea to a finished product was impressive. My favorite all time band and I still listen to their music today.

We are at the perimeter of Beatles fading into the sunset. Isn’t it great?

Huh?

Even kids today are discovering the Beatles. Every time I pass the magazines at the checkout in Kroger there is some special TIME/Rollingstone tribute special. They don’t make those things unless they sell.

I discovered the Beatles later in life and love them. I didn’t appreciate their music before. Got to see Sir Paul live in 2019. This was an amazing documentary

entered junior high w/ the Beatles. My son's den is a shrine to them, and he gifted me the remastered Let It Be and outtakes for Christmas. We gave him the McCartney lyrics book.

He got Disney plus for his family at Christmas, and he raved about all tjhe episodes/ We are currently v isiting him in STL, and he vows we'll sit down and get through most of or all of the epsodest before we leave STL later this month.

FYI: i find myself constantly replaying Let It Be's first three tracks

Those are for the boomers. Beatles "Q rating" is dwindling. And how may "kids" do you know who read damn magazines? None. Those are for the 'good time oldie' set. Papaw and mamaws of the "kids."

What? Ain’t happening pal.
It started happening in 2004. That was the peak of their acclaim in this "generation". Just like all the other boy bands from the 60s. Ask a random group of 100 teenagers in any part of town to name 2 songs by Beatles. Two. Can't do it.

I didn’t really care for them as a teenager. That was “mom’s” music. It wasn’t until college that I really started listening to them.

Article from 2019 seems to imply they are doing very well on streaming platforms.

The Beatles remain a pop culture phenomenon even among Gen Z fans. Here's why

In 2020 they were one of only 2 bands to sell a million units (the other was BTS)

The Beatles And BTS Are The Only Groups To Sell 1 Million Album Units In 2020

Idk about that. The way younger people consume music (Spotify, YouTube) kind of increases the odds that they've been introduced to the Beatles imo.

I can see that. I mean, XM does have Beatles channel. They also a a DiPlo, Eminem, Grateful Dead channel and about every other unhip band on the planet.

On Sunday afternoon, we went to the local IMAX Theater and saw the Beatles Rooftop Concert from 1/30/69. Really good.
Watching on an IMAX screen gave it a completely fresh look and the sound was exceptional.
Check out the link to read about the work that went into putting this film together.

That was mostly Paul. He was a machine. It was incredible seeing the other guys over there discussing stage design while Paul starts screwing around on his piano. Next thing you know, you can distinctly hear the beginning of The Long and Winding Road. The man was a gifted songwriter.
