I just don't understand how they are constantly beat deep and always in bad position.

Lack of speed. Most of these DB' except Surton , won't see the field next year except in games like these.

The most glaring weakness we have is defensive speed. Simple screens and qb scrambles go for huge gains once a player gets past our line.Toney and Coleman simply can't cover sec quality players. Can't understand why Foreman isn't playing more on defense. He is the only sec elite speed guy we have.

even my dad who is 89 says every big catch the other team makes goes on # 27's side

Yup. That was why I started the thread. Good film study by Mizzou on our defense. They knew they could pick on Coleman and he would get beat every time and that's exactly what happened.

Poor Justin Coleman. I haven't seen someone get burnt that many times since Steve Johnson was running around the secondary doing a really good Helen Keller impersonation.

Probably the reason why L'Damien Washington got most of the targets instead of Dorial Green-Beckham

That is an every game thing for Mizzou. Washington is much better WR than DGB. DGB is super talented but does not perform anywhere near that potential.

Stunning Steve Johnson LOLOLOL!!!! A Vol secondary legend if there ever was one. Dude would get hit in the facemask with the ball and drop the sure INT.
