Hey, y'all, I have seen these in East TN and surrounding areas in years past. But can you tell me where any of them are in your neck of the woods?

I-75 North at the Huntsville/ Oneida exit.

There's one in Norwood on Hwy 61, between Oak Ridge and Oliver Springs.

Both those are within 30 minutes of my house.

(Are you asking about the huge white crosses or something else?)

Big concrete crosses, i think. I saw plenty back in the day. But, i've been gone too long.
The Heartland Series with Bill Landry had an episode (1980s) where he interviewed an old man that used to put Crosses along East TN roads. (I try to watch it every Sunday night at 11:30 but it's been a while since I saw that episode. WBIR channel 10)

Im not sure if this was one of the old man's but they looked like this: Screenshot_20200814-210021_DuckDuckGo.jpg

I-75 between Lenoir City and Sweetwater????

That one was in the 100% coverage area for the eclipse about 3 years ago. I got off at that exit and turned right looking for a place to park and watch it. Didn’t find one, turned around and went the other direction, went around a bend in the road, and there was the huge cross. Found my spot to watch.

I am more about that message, Get Right With God. It speaks to me. I think any of us can get complacent, get a bit careless, drift a bit ... the devil lurks and watches for new ways to sneak in. We each need to recenter and revival ourselves now and then. I know I need to.

There's a deacon at church that often says (about the devil), "it's easier to keep him out, then get him out."

The one in Cookeville is part of The River Community Church. I went there for a while when I was at Tech. IIRC, the pastor was having a hard time raising funds to build the church. He was driving somewhere out of town and saw another one of these, and what he tells is that he prayed and promised God that if He'd provide funds for the church, he'd build one of the crosses on the church property. Sure enough, the funds come in, and the pastor builds the cross.

Hwy58 a few miles north of Decatur TN just a few hundred yards south of grace Baptist Church. It's on the right side of the road if you are driving north on 58.

Is this near Ten Mile? My mama's people are from Ten Mile, Euchee, thereabouts.
