We actually improved in pass defense by both yards and points allowed...I believe we make a bigger jump this season than last.

We had a "Jimmy's and Joe's " problem...and we brought in 7 or 8 new DBs between the class and the portal...EVERY NEW DB is rated higher than ANY DB on our roster last season except 1 coming out of HS. All of them. Every one of them. We should have "middle of the SEC pack" defensive backfield after we get these new guys coached up. Despite the fact that on average we give teams 2 or 3 more offensive posessions than anyone else because we go so fast on offense. Our defensive stats will never be tops in the league with this offense....which is OK. If the stats will show we are average, we will actually be well above average due to having defend for several more posessions every game than other teams.

Edit: also remove the SC debacle (thank you Banks..jackazz) and our pass defense would look much better statistically last season. They threw for 500+ yards and a half dozen TDs??? I can still picture their WR running wide open thru our defense...felt like Saban in Neyland...
