Some here just need to chill. These two have offers from everywhere including places like Florida with a much better offense. I'd like to see us get them as much as the next guy. Just need to wait and see. This is the same kind of stuff that I was talking about on the football board. Pumping up this team in the pre-season when we should have known it would be a struggle with a new QB and now a few here claiming we're leading for Boyd/Heastie (big stretch). Like I said, just wait and see. Temper those expectations.

VT board thinks Logan Thomas is theirs too.

i do not know wat heastie is planning on doing but i know for a fact we are in boyd's top 2 and have a very good shot at landing him...but if he finds a better school that offers him now thee nothing we can do but as of this moment we have a great shot with boyd and they seem to be a package deal

So it's a big stretch to think a recruit is coming here when the recruit himself says we're in his top 2?

I'd hate to see what you think our chances are with any of the other recruits on our list since none of them have us any better top 3-5 on their list(except for Oku)

Holloman already suggested that Fulmer's future status as head coach concerns him. He doesn't want to get himself involved with another school whose coach is on the hotseat.

and you know that as the losses mount the national media will be on Fulmer worse than they are now

Chesapeake (Va.) Great Bridge five-star wide receiver Logan Heastie was kind of caught off-guard when he was asked about the recent rumors of him potentially decommitting from West Virginia. Earlier in the day, it was reported and confirmed by multiple sources including Scout.com that Heastie’s close friend Tajh Boyd had decommitted from the Mountaineers.

“Yeah, I’m not sure where all those rumors were coming from,” Heastie said. “I just took my official to West Virginia for the Marshall game and I’m solid. I’m not planning on taking anymore visits to anywhere else.
Heastie informed us that since he committed he has not heard much from other schools, although he did say one Big Ten power has been staying pretty active. “After I committed everything just dropped off,” Heastie explained. “The last few weeks though Penn State has been very active. They basically just try and keep in touch and they said if anything happens I can call them.” Great Bridge has started out the season with a (4-2) mark and the air attack hasbeen struggling. Heastie has caught 45 passes for 550 yards and seven scores.

Heastie prolly aint going anywhere but WVU..
Boyd is leaving WVU..

hopefully if Boyd commits to us he can help sway him here.. but i really dont know.. sounds like Heastie loves west virginia too much

heastie is enrolling in January so Boyd would have to commit pretty soon to convince him to come here.

Wide receiver Logan Heastie (Chesapeake, Va./Great Bridge) committed to West Virginia March 15, but a number of other schools have not given up the fight.

"Schools are still recruiting me like crazy," Heastie said. "I haven't signed yet, so the other schools still have a chance. I tell them I haven't officially closed the door. You never want to shut the door because you never know what's going to happen."

Heastie said Penn State, Oregon, North Carolina State, North Carolina and Boston College are still in pursuit.

"I've been to Penn State a couple times, but I've never been to a game there," Heastie said. "I was going to go to one of their games, but I couldn't make it. They've been calling me."

not going to happen for us

I think the only reciever we are still pursuing with any gusto is Marlon Brown. Lamar scruggs is a likely back up option if we bomb on marlon

Even if Heastie leaves WVU, he's not come here.

In terms of other state of Virginia prospects: Boyd is pretty much a vol (I can't imagine UT loses this battle to BC). I feel good about Logan Thomas, but not Moses. It is much easier to beat FSU+VT than to beat Bama, UF, and Miami.

you should feel more confident in getting Moses than Thomas.

No then, Heastie is solid with WV, and is not going to de-commit. Maybe if Boyd brings him to a football or a basketball game with him, then it could happen, but I just don't see it.
