Don't get me wrong because James Franklin has done a good job, but you go to back to back bowls and now you are a powerhouse and better than Tennessee all time?

I just hope Franklin stays long enough to get what UT is about to give vandy in the years to come. I just wish that Butch would throw sportsmanship out the window. I doubt he will.

This article underscores an undeniable truth - there is no sport where the right leadership matters more, and Dooley and Franklin are perfect examples for entirely the opposite reasons.

No, it's because Tennessee has decided to become a cellar dweller while Vandy went out and got a good football coach.

"The results tell it all: when fans talk about the state’s dominant football team, they now reference Vanderbilt, not Tennessee."

BS.

I thought if nothing else him dog cussing his big old lineman for knocking down the man on an interception return was funny as h3ll....:)... I also don't recall any trash talking of the stomping they put on us. After Dooley's post game comments last year. to kick our a$$ and basically not acknowledge last yrs comments is respectful IMO. All that being said is Vandy gonna take over the state of TN with or without CJF HELL NO!!!!!

If Dooley had won 9 games this year, they'd be giving him a parade. Franklin does it at Vandy and UT fans can't compliment an amazing feet.
Franklin is a motivator and leader and obviously in touch with the next generation.

The fact that so many people are comparing/conpeting against vanderbilt on the field, in recruiting and in the press speaks volumes

It's simple: If Franklin stays, Vandy will be a legitimate threat in the SEC. If he goes, they'll go back to being Vandy.

He's an exceptional recruiter and motivator. Might be one of the top 10 coaches in the country right now.

Gilbert :eek:lol:

Vandy will never be a true threat. Heck they just got their first win vs an opponent with a winning record

Literally no one is making this argument. In no way has Vanderbilt even put a drop in the bucket to matching what UT did in the previous 100 years. That's the history portion of the equation, and the odds are that Vandy will never catch UT on that front. However, that doesn't change the fact that in the here and now aspect of the equation, they are without question the superior program to Tennessee in every way. They are having more on-field success, have a better coach, are recruiting better and appear to have an administration who is more committed to success than that of UT's. It can certainly all change at any moment, but that's where the two schools are right now.

Well if this team is not showing solid signs of being coached as in Franklin fashion next year then we may have an one and done staff especially if Neyland is once again deserted. I hope Cheek and company are the first to go. Sorry I'm bitter.

Vandy will probably need to at least fill a bowl game up played in its home town before its considered relevant. Can't be relevant in the state until they're at least relevant in their city.

78-23-5...enough of this nonsense!

How much bearing did any of those games have on the one played a month ago when Vandy destroyed us? Like I said, given what happened in the past 100 years, none of us are young enough to live in a world where Vandy is more dominant than UT all-time. That doesn't change the fact that right now their current team and program are better than UT's.

Are you serious? Have you actually been to Vandy and seen their facilities? It's garbage! They had one good year. Other than that they've proven nothing over time.

What did any of that matter when two teams played this year? Apparently it's not hurting their recruiting much either, because they're crushing us on that front as well.
