like a QB in football, a point guard needs time during the game to find his rhythum. It seems to me our offense was playing faster pace than what we can keep up with.

Bone needs to be playing as well

Bobby will get his time against Wall. Wall is a more conventional point. The Vanderbilt group are a bunch of shooters, they dont like to penetrate. Bobby and John Wall will take turns blowing by each other which is a up tempo game which is better for us. IMO

The only way Bobby will come close to playing with Wall is if he has a Kansas game again. He can do it but i'm not sure he can do it on the road. For us to play with them Wayne will have to score 30 or Scotty has to man up or Maze plays real ball.We have 3 days to get that in one of their heads.

I do agree with you about Vandy's just shooting and not driving like Wall does.

Goins helped get the team scoring tonight. He helped cut the lead from 20 to 10 by driving into the middle and hitting a few short jumpers in traffic. The team figured out there wasn't a cover on the basket. You have to remember that when he is in the game most of the time he is running with Mcbee, Prince, Hall and Pearl. Who is gonna help him look good and score? I like Maze but Goins isn't part of the problem.

I do not see how Goins got player of the game tonight. He scored 11 points, and several of them were off of forced shots. He seems to dribble with his head down and through traffic way too often.

You have to realize the radio network tries to split up when somebody plays better than normal. Considering Chism, Hopson and Maze take turns as player of game Goins game garnered him this games nod. His offense is usually non existant. tonight he made some tough buckets. Ican remember Stanley Asumnu getting POG for only scoring 6 points because he provided a spark against S. Carolina

Yeah, I guess. I'm just not sure I want to encourage the kind of shot selection and selfish play that I saw from Goins tonight.

It seems if anyone makes a few shots they think they have the right to keep jacking up dumb shots for the rest of the game

Goins single handedly put us back in that game last night, although we didn't stay back in it for long. IIRC, he had 3 baskets and 3 assists in the short stretch you are talking about, accounting for all of our scoring.

4-9 from the field, 11 pts, 5 assts, no turnovers in 20 minutes.

I think I"d like to have that on a regular basis.
