This man has not even called a single play, and we have so called fans crucifying the man. Let his ability be JUDGED on the field with his players. I'm tired of pseudo athletic directors and analysts. The Florida game will tell us much but until then...we must show some class.

Why shouldn't his track record of Cincy be judged?

Never beaten a ranked team? Really? Dooley 2.0.

I don't have to give him a chance...remember when Dooley said we weren't getting kicked around anymore. We see how that worked out

I am not happy with this hire one bit, but there is absolutely no reason not to support him. He is our coach now. I support Coach Jones 100% and hope he does great here. We need to all get behind him.

If you want to be mad at someone, it should be Day Fart. The blame falls directly on the shoulders of him.

I'll give him a chance.. I'll set at the house and watch. Not investing a dime in seats or trips to Knoxville... 15 year season ticket holder, no longer..

I guess Majors should have never coached at Tennessee huh. He didn't have a great start at Iowa State.

Majors was coming off a national Championship and possibly building a dynasty at Pittsburgh when he was hired.. Not a good comparison..

True. The point I was trying to illustrate was he had a rocky coaching start but later became a legend.

I guess Some people are happy without a coach period! When I joined this forum about 5 years ago during Fulmer's last season, EVERY OTHER POST was FIRE FULMER, well, thanks to the FF folks, the result was Kiffin. You know the story there. Then, Dooley took the job. He cleaned up the program, though couldn't coach. Well, FIRE DOOLEY posts were rampant all over this forum. I agreed, the program was going nowhere fast. Well, for the first time, there was silence about firing someone. It's hard to believe that it's possible, but I guess it is!
We have had almost 3 weeks without a coach. Given the (*c-l-a-s-s*) NOT! some of these forums provide, NO WONDER IT TOOK SO LONG! The "FIRE_______" have had their day, Now we need to get behind our next coach, whoever it is, and hope for the best. THIS IS TENNESSEE FOOTBALL! TIME TO GET BEHIND OUR COACH, OUR TEAM, and OUR PROGRAM! GO VOLS!

We have nothing to gain by beating this guy up.
He wasn't anybody's first choice but he will be our coach.
The more I look at his resume the more positive I think about it.
He didn't get his job because of his last name (see our last 2 coaches).
He won 4 conference championships in 6 years as a head coach and that is worthy of some recognition regardless of the conference.
As a spread guy he has to get a top notch DC and surround himself with guys who can recruit the south.
If he does that we will be back soon.

I agree we need to give him a shot. He did have Cincy like 10-2 last year and he won Big East coach of the year. I know the Big East and the SEC don't even compare but at least he had a winning record In a big conference. Dooley's record sucked even at LA Tech. I wouldn't go as far as to call him Dooley 2.0 just yet. We will see. Here's hoping for Saban 2.0 instead of Dooley 2.0. Saban didn't have SEC HC experience when he came from Mich ST to LSU. I'm sure their fans were skeptical just as we are. We all know how that hire turned out. You never know the next great SEC head coach till you give him a shot.
