Give the Heisman to someone else, but…

is there really any doubt Bryce Young isn’t the best player in college football? Good grief, he singlehandedly kept Bama in the game against us.

McElroy was also right saying last night it was a joke Hendon Hooker wasn’t a finalist.
Yep. And he played in a meaningless bowl game. I'm a fan I'll admit it. I sure hope we soon have the culture that 'opt out' is not in the players vocabulary.

Man, I give credit to guys like Darnell Wright, Byron Young, Will Anderson, and especially Bryce Young, but I’m not going to fault guys that opt out. They have health and future$ to be concerned with that‘s difficult for the rest of us to comprehend what decision they make.

Everything I’ve read about Bryce says he is a good guy and I hope he does well in the league but I don’t see it. The size isn’t there and I have to wonder how well he looked because he played with the best talent every week, which won’t even be close to reality at the next level.

Bryce has not had a good offensive line in front of him either of his years as a starter. Nor did he have great receivers this year.

Anybody on this site bad mouthing any of these players for opting out when they are projected day 1 or day 2 picks, has never been in a situation where they had to risk millions of dollars to play a meaningless game.

Don't fault them at all. Just not calling it what some want it called. It's called quitting. No disrespect. Just facts.

Best thing for him would be for Sean Payton to unretire and return to the team that drafts him. Same size as Drew Brees but far more athletic. Young with Payton would be very good combo.

Not good by traditional Bama standard, they were still better than the vast majority of who Bama played. You guys have just been extremely spoiled.

This. The #1 pick usually goes to a bad team. Most often they don't have an offensive line that can protect a new QB well. It makes a big difference if you're 6' 2" or taller so you can see those blitzes coming when your OL sucks. Young has had the good fortune to play with great players, he is talented and elusive, but being short does no one any favors in the NFL except for RBs.

I don’t fault them for a business decision. But I sure appreciate the guys that stick around, Thanks Darnell and Byron!

Yep prob the worst bama team in the Saban Era outside of the first year. Deff the worst receiver corps in awhile and defense has not been anything like the old bama. Bryce seems like a great guy so hope he does well at the next level
