Jimmy Clausen, Zach Frazer, Demetrius Jones and Evan Sharpley (their 4 qb's) combined for just 77 passing yards in the Notre Dame spring game. Causen was 3-for-7 for 23 yards.

I thought he was hurt. I don't think he practiced much due to his shoulder did he?

Wish he would have went any where other than Notre Dame..

They should struggle this year..

Yeah, Notre Dame is my least favorite team in any sport. Even if he has missed a lot of practice, it's gerat to see him struggle.

He was the best QB for Notre Dame at their spring game. Take away his 23 yards and the other 3 QBs had 54 yards. You also left out that they ran the ball effectively.

Jimmy will carry on the family's hair gel tradition.

I find it hilarious that a large contingent of the UT fanbase has all of these qualities:

1. Hated Casey Clausen while he was here.
2. Hated Rick Clausen while he was here.
3. Wanted Jimmy Clausen at UT.
4. Adamantly proclaim they never wanted Jimmy at UT.
5. Want to see Jimmy fail at Notre Dame.
6. Worship Peyton Manning.

Seriously, Peyton Manning coming to UT was about 100,000 times a bigger betrayal than Jimmy not following Casey and Rick to Knoxville. I recall hearing "Clausen sucks" chants during Casey's sophomore season. I doubt the Ole Miss fanbase gave Archie that kind of crap. We should recognize that Peyton is a good guy that made a decision for himself and not for anyone else. Jimmy Clausen did the same. Get over it.

get over what?

the kid's a douchebag. and the fact he declared he was going to win 4 national championships only sets him up for more ridicule when things go bad.

Things haven't gone bad. He didn't play that well in a scrimmage. Neither did any of UT's QBs. This whole situation seems really desperate. It cracks me up how so many fans came out of the woodwork to say Clausen is overrated right after he stopped considering UT. He was so overrated that Pete Carroll wanted him.

Actually, I recall a lot of Irish fans calling Chris Donald overrated right after he chose UT. Of course, every poster on Volnation was able to see the quick opinion reversal that went on there. Why doesn't anyone else realize the same thing is going on with Jimmy Clausen?

The hilarious parts are:

1. If Jimmy Clausen had committed to Tennessee, these same people would praise him as the best QB out of high school since Peyton Manning.

2. Jimmy Clausen's numbers were bad in his FIRST real action - a SCRIMMAGE.

3. Some fans have said he's overrated, long before today, yet since WHEN can you decide whether a kid is overrated when you haven't seen jack crap from him. I'll take some of the advice from some of the recruiting gurus here (hv, 67, etc), but some johnny-know-nothings like getyopopcornready don't really know a whole heck of a lot about a kid who played in California.

My view of Casey is based on this picture. Anyone helping UT win is ok in my book. I would not mind at all if there was another on the bench for us.

My opinion on Jimmy Clausen being overrated will be held until he plays in a real game.

However, my favorite quote from the Daily Beacon was one that said "For the first time in 6 years, there is not a Clausen on the roster."

UT did not need Jimmy here. I will say that whoever QBs UT during Jimmy's tenure with Notre Dame will win just as many National Championships as Jimmy.

Little off topic here guys, but what is Lou Holtz doing on the sidelines at ND again??? I've worked a lot lately and haven't been able to catch much TV or anything, so what is he coaching? Special Teams or something?

May be posted some where else on here but I don't feel like looking for it

I'm not saying I ever wanted Jimmy Clausen at UT, because I didn't. I'm just pointing out how fickle fans can be.
