Gmail on iPhone

Why is Push not an option under Advanced? Only Fetch and Manual are an option for Gmail.

When I go into my settings -> Mail, contacts, calendars my fetch option is set to push. Where are you seeing an "advanced" screen?

Ah, I see. It fetches it every 15 minutes which is fine for me. I believe you can set it up as an exchange to get push notifications (which I did for a while)

I did not like the way it handled the messages that way. Details of my distaste are a bit fuzzy.

You can do it by setting it up as an exchange account using the method in the second link in my last post

I'll give it a try later but I might end up setting up Exchange through work. Ridiculous that is not an option on a "smart" phone
