Okay, we're 5-1. I figure a playoff lock, courtesy of a bad division. No running game. Great D. Offense moves on how well Brett plays week to week. His good weeks and bad weeks don't differ much, as far as quality of throws. When you practice slight of hand magic, sometimes you're caught.

I think we can bullcrap our way to a 1st round win, but that's it. I like the tandem of Wynn and Jackson, not that we have a huge threat there, but the 2 could be good if they went 50/50. Not superstars, but 2 600 yard guys, if they played based on down and distance.

That doesn't matter much, as it's not going to be a great playoff run from the Cheeseheads.

But, if he is available, do the Pack take EA in the 2nd round? Public speak says Rodgers is the next one, but private talk says he is another Akili Smith or Joey Harrington. Don't be surprised if he gets dumped for a late pick.

And to the "Play Rodgers" faction, 5-1 is alot easier to swallow than 1-5 or 0-6.

I was HUGE on taking Drew Stanton from Michigan State in the 2nd round, Detroit beat us to it. Big, Strong chap, from cold country, but that doesnt matter anymore

gb has been a good surprise so far. im not a huge fan but have always had a hard time rooting against the favre-led team.

i would agree with you on how far they're likely to go, but who can say; i think the nfc is pretty wide open and without an obvious sb contender like pats/colts.

ive only seen rodgers play preseason but iirc he looked pretty good. based on the two names you gave as examples, is that talk because he is a fellow tedford product? kyle boller is on that same list and ravens fans have been calling for him to start over mcnair (and will be this week), i say he shouldnt lose a chance based on that alone.

that said; i would probably be surprised if they considered him any more then a short term replacement for favre.

Yeah, basically, the Tedford guys have been NFG in the NFL. As to Boller starting, well, the backup QB is the greatest player ever, in the eyes of hometown fans with a struggling offense. And they got more of the same.

Not trashing Rodgers as much as i don't believe in him, he might be allright. But i'm expecting him to fail, i wish we had found a way to keep Craig Nall in town, for whatever lack of talent there was, there was that spurt of daring and panache.

Wishing for the best, Aaron will probably be the guy that leads us down after 4 retires. You really can't replace a legend, i just hope it doesn't take too many top 5 picks for the team to realize that there is a problem. The D is young, and ready to win now, it'd be a shame if the cycles offset, and we had a good QB and poor D 6 years from now.

Of course, the RB situation makes it hard for any QB to look good.

agreed as to the backup qb looking good. boller has had pretty good numbers in his 5 games played this year though. i think it was fueled by him coming in midgame and looking better.

who knows, rodgers may or may not get a shot as the starter. either way he has a great job now. backup to the guy who never misses a game and mentored by one of the best to ever play. whoever takes over in gb is going to have the sort of 'elway' problem..

of course, after MNF maybe favre has 10 more seasons in him ;)

I never noticed this thread.

Green Bay would be hell on wheels with a good runningback, and their defense is top notch
