God i hate the fact I have to watch these "bailout" hearings

these politicians make me ill. They keep acting like this $700 bill is a complete loss. Even in a worst case, the world is ending type situation, what loss are we talking about for the american taxpayers? 50 bil? 100 bil? :banghead2:

Bernake is calm as a cucumber.

The "preferred stock" "warrant" stuff is driving me nuts. I'm convinced they don't understand his argument of why that will lower participation and ultimately lower the impact of the program.

It's because they don't understand what the proposal is. all they are saying is they want to buy these assets at fair prices since the market currently is irrational and illiquid. it's like me selling my tv on ebay for a fair market price and the buyer saying the only way he will buy it is if I give him a % of my company.

Yes and to make it worse, they say "what we mean is we get a % of your company if your company does better because we bought your TV".

If this gets placed into the bailout, they should just forget it and let the chips fall where they may.
