Josh Richardson will not play this year unless he gets agressive and works on shooting and ball handling.

I think you may be too hasty with your concern. He had a very nice game last night and stated that he realized that he needed to step it up. He was something like 8 of 14 shooting and hit most of his free throws. He was low man on his RTL team and it took him a while to find his place. I think he will be fine for us in the future.

Too hasty indeed. If we went by that logic, Kenny Hall would be redshirted. He didn't try at all to compete. That's why he didn't even start in the 3rd place game. I could be wrong, but I'm seeing Richardson getting McBee/Golden-like minutes next season. He may not be a scoring threat when he's on the floor, but as long as he knows what he's doing, he shouldn't have too much trouble being an effective role player off the bench.

Unless it's a top recruit that's already on the NBA radar, freshmen shouldn't be counted on for many minutes anyway.

From GVX on Richardson:
“I realized today I've been sucking it up in this summer league, and I decided I had to do something about that,'' said Richardson, who scored his team's first nine points and finished 8-of-12 shooting from the floor and 5-of-6 from the free-throw line. “You can get a lot from this league working individual stuff and working on learning to play help defense.''

Well, there ya go, OP.

This is true, but do we have a better option for 2nd SF?

Not really sure if there is a good option at 1st sf. You won't see entire sub patterns like last year. CCM will only play 7, give or take a few garbage minutes.
I don't like Maymon or Hall. Hall has been given a break because people have blamed BP and staff for his shortcomings, but something is missing with him. He lacks instinct/feel for the game and is a step behind, mentally and physically. His zombie walk drives me crazy. Hopefully something clicks for him.

When all is said and done, I look forward to seeing some basketball players in the near future. Not just long, lean, athletes.
-A pg that wants the ball and knows what to do
-A shooter that understands spacing
-And a big man that knows how to be patient and finish at the rim

Add another scorer and 2 role players (unselfish picksetters and rebounders) and you got yourself a basketball team.

Yep. I think shooting remains a mystery, but it seems like Golden has improved his understanding for the PG position. Well, just from RTL. He has displayed his vision and passing skills much more so than last year. But we all know what happened with the high expectations from Goins last season...

I actually disagree about Hall. I totally get what you're saying, but I think he has a good grasp of the game, at least his position. He actually knows how to be a true post player. Unless it's just a total disaster, I would expect him to improve with the big-time minutes he'll be getting.

As for Richardson, I really don't see Cam playing 35 mpg, so I think Richardson will have to be a 10-15 mpg role player.

I hope it clicks for Hall but here is what I see:
--doesnt understand spacing
--only has a follow up dunk and a nice little fade for consistent scoring moves
--bad hands
--no rt or lft jump hook or up and under move
--no face up game
--clueless on D
--last but definitely the most irritating, he pulls the ball down to his knees almost everytime he gets the ball down low or on a rebound. It drives me crazy and I could probably put up with the other issues, but this one kills me. I'm pulling for him, but he needs to grow up and step up this year. He needs to watch Zach Randolph get the ball up quick and keep it above his shoulders with his elbows high.
