Going way out on a limb here folks: FAKE FG?

It was a great call and would have been 6 if not for the falsestart. Game over after that

One of the best designed fake fgs I've seen. Execution (the actual pitch, catch, and run) was great. Hate that the first really costly penalty of the year ruined it.

Discuss the coaching genius here if ye dare...

I believe there were a few mistakes due to coaching or playcalling for this game. This play, however, isn't one of them. Find something else to be butthurt about. This was a perfectly timed fake fg.

Well designed play for sure and well executed except for the false start, but that's a play I'd like to see against GA,SC or Bama not the power house of South Alabama.

Wished Butch would have saved that one for a conference game. Maybe he saved some better ones for those games or wanted to give them something to worry about.

Thought the call was great but I probably would've punted after the penalty and played field position instead of trying to kick the FG.

Loved the call. If the right side of the line doesn't get a false start penalty, Palardy scores a TD.

For all the moaning I see on here about how the offense is so vanilla, to ***** about a play like this, is just amazing. It's definitely a damned if you do, damned if you don't world for a coach.

like all calls, if it works, it's genius. if it doesn't, you're an idiot.

the only thing to question with the call is why break that out against south alabama.

The holder should be running our read option offense. Whether it was dumb luck or what, he played it perfectly and showed more guts with his last second pitch than our qb's that play scared. I think he was playing the replay in his mind when he blocked Palardy's fg, which made me laugh out loud.

When plays like that blow up, here come the critics. When they work, they fire up the team and the fans. Too bad there was a penalty or we would have had the first down.

Bottom line, if you have a talented, well disciplined, and mature team, then you don't have to focus on momentum swings. Our team is young, and momentum in a game has a much greater roll in play-by-play performance. Butch understands this, so he was after a momentum shifting play.
