I'd rather watch golf, actually. Those who don't play will NEVER understand this, but the last few pairings on a Sunday at Augusta is some of my favorite TV.
I guess it's almost like an appreciation of art or music. Golf is such a difficult game to play well and is an individual accomplishment that is quite a bit, possibly even majority, mental. After I go out and hack up the ground, whack $40/dozen balls into the drink, and put the occasional dreaded hockey-stick on my card, it's nice to see the game played so well.
(And occasionally, it's a needed consolation that even professionals who make millions still bounce it off spectators, knock limbs out of trees, yank putts, and find trash cans 30 yards off target.)
