Good article and very true about what Bruce Pearl should do..

Is Bruce's penalty matching what everyone else is getting at the moment? No. He really got punched harder for his violations. That said, he would have been fine had he not broken the rules to begin with. He set himself up for this.

So, Miami will not appeal the sanctions?

No $h]+ Sherlock!

I was surprised at the wrist slap.

Ya know you're are right, but I'm tired of hearing that argument. As far as we know, no money changed hands, no jobs were offered to mom, no cars were given to players, no grades were fixed, no hookers were supplied.

It was simply a violation of inviting a couple of young men who were juniors to his house for dinner. If I understand it correctly had they been seniors it would not have been a violation.

3.5 years! Give me an FN break already. I will always believe Bruce has a lot of enemies behind closed doors.
Not to mention a dumbass AD and lawyer who knew the NCAA had the picture but did not advise Bruce in advance. Just a stupid story.........

Bruce is shady as is Tony Jones. Real shady. They give awesome interviews, but beyond that I dont trust them. The NCAA probably did us a favor in the long run, because I have no doubt they were running a dirty program that just hasn't been uncovered yet.

Yeah, I hated being ranked #1 and going to the sweet 16. Everything is much better now.

He got 3.5 years because he lied to the NCAA twice during the investigation, the second after they already had a picture showing what happened (essentially they gave him a chance to come clean first and he stuck to his story). He didn't come clean until pretty much after they let him know they already had the evidence and knew what happened.

The 3.5 years he got was for knowingly lying to the NCAA investigators twice, not just for having a barbecue with a recruit. (Same way you lie to the cops about something minor being investigated, it becomes an additional, possibly even more serious, charge)

So since haith lied 3 times, shouldn't he got 1/3 more of a punishment as Bruce based on that alone? Not even counting that anyone will agree that what Haith did was far more "heinous" than the BBQ

Worse than what went on at Miami? I can handle giving up a few scholarships
