The penalties were 10-3 obviously in favor of Oklahoma. You probably have to factor that in as to why Vols dialed it down. Plus horrible field conditions.

Huepel knew early on there was no way Oklahoma was gonna score enough points to beat us. The only way we could have lost that game was if we gave it away. And we almost did when Nico fumbled inside our 5 yard line. That's when Huepel wisely pulled back on the aggressive play calling and started making safe play calls.

In big time SEC road games the key is to simply win. The stakes are too high to be concerned with style points.
