Some people have compared Butch Jones favorably to Bruce Pearl. I do not disagree with that comparison in the slightest. In terms of showmanship and salesmanship, however, I would reach back much further and say that he reminds me of Ray Mears, the best basketball coach in Tennessee history and the man who, for our younger fans, coined the phrase "Big Orange Country." If he can get under the skin of opposing coaches as much as Ray Mears did, Tennessee fans will be very happy with Jones' selection as head football coach.

who are we trying to convince? No articles are going to do that only wins on the field will do that. Jones on paper at least looks better than Dooley. Dooley spent more time teaching the players to bathe than recruit and then thinking it was so funny he told the media about it thus laying the ground work for trust between the coach and players.

Thanks for the trivia regarding Ray Mears. I never knew that. I suppose that make me a youngin' :)
