Yep, it's the first time Barnes has beaten a top 5 seed with the Vols. In fact, he still hasn't beaten a higher seed to this point, but it felt like he did on Saturday with all the hype Duke was receiving before the tourney.

Duke WAS the favorite. By 4 points. That made it more impressive.

Talking to a friend who’s a Memphis grad and fan this morning. He didn’t see the Vols Duke game and ask what happen. I told him a bunch of grown men spanked a bunch of young 5*s and they didn’t have a clue how to handle it. He said that’s been his major concern for PH too. Recruiting all the five stars and not a clue how to develop them into a team. We both agreed it’d take (probably literally) an act of state government to ever fire him and still it’d be a PR nightmare. That’s what most people understood when they hired him but CLEARLY UM had zero other options. Told him…”I’m so proud Rick Barnes coaches the Vols”!
