Which 5 players have the most to prove this season?

My 5 are:
1) Curt Maggitt - past injuries and unable to play
2) Justin Worley - senior season, his team to lead
3) Marlin Lane - perennial backup, can he be the man
4) Kyler Kerbyson - waited in the wings for his chance
5) Josh Smith - needs to prove last year was a fluke regarding drops

Almost put him in my top 5. He has a great opportunity this season as the nickel DB.

From what I've read, he seems to be doing far better there than he ever did at CB. If it's his "natural" position, then I say go for it.

In my opinion, he should have started ahead of Neal

Not bashing you just curious what aj has to prove,he came back that's enough for me.

It's all good I should have explained out beside the names. I feel as tho A.J. Is the leader of the defense and probably along with maggit the leaders of the team. As a senior he has to prove as a leader he can lead the team to a couple big wins and a bowl game. Never had a winning record. I know it's not all his fault and his stats are impressive, but at the end of the day in football you are judged on wins and losses. Jmo

Worley - can he manage the game, lead, put up enough points to win games?
AJ - can he add a dimension to his game to make himself a more complete LB?
Maggitt - can he stay healthy?
Hurd - really it's more about what potential he shows more than the numbers he puts up. Could be a huge momentum shift if he's all that is advertised and more.
Sutton - can he continue to play at a high level and become a feared player in the SEC?

The only change I would make is Croom instead Kerbyson. I think he really needs to solidify his role this season because it's just going to keep getting harder to get on the field at WR with each recruiting class.

1.) Curt Maggit (has to stay healthy)
2.) Jordan Williams (has to be the anchor on the DL)
3.) Justin Worley (plays his game and keeps us moving the chains)
4.) Matt Darr (needs to be seamless from the transition from Michael Palardy) Palardy was a weapon last year. Tough shoes to fill
5.) Mark Crowder (he has to be the leader on the OL)

I agree with you on Croom, I selected Kerbyson based on the fact he's waited his turn for a few years and now he has a chance to step up and prove he's ready.

We really have more than 5 who have something to prove this season.

That's what I was thinking when I saw that volfan002 and volnal listed Darr. He definitely has a lot to prove.

Everyone on our team!

The Seniors because it's sad that unless they show out this year it will be their last year to play the game they love so much and have worked so hard at and because they have been through so much and remained loyal to our beloved Vols.

The freshmen because they need to prove they are the rock solid foundation that will build our Vols back up to National recognition as a top 10 team or better every year and that SEC and National Championshps are back in our sights once again.

The Sophs and Junors because next year they have to step up and keep pushing our Vols back up the mountain to greatness again.

We are a family and a TEAM...

T.ogether
E.veryone
A.chieves
M.ore

NOW is the time to prove to the world that Tennessee football is back on the road up the mountain to greatness once again and leave the doubters and naysayer behind in the dust!
