it may be in the game thread, but did anyone else the announcers thanking Slive for a job all these years? I just found it ironic.

Slive didn't account for their often lousy audio and video. i did appreciate the thrid choice in games, especially under the Fulmer era.

Unfortunately as a state of Alabama employee, our retirement system owns Raycom - I can't imagine it has much value left after losing the SEC broadcast rights.

Maybe they can pick up the Sun Belt.

Some of the pension funds other great holdings are a conglomeration of community newspapers (because the news print business is so hot these days) and US Air.

Looks like I'll be a Wal-mart greeter.

I'll sure miss those football broadcasts where the underdog would take a 3-0 lead with 14:00 left in the first quarter and going to break they'd say something like "WHOA....UPSET BREWING IN [insert city]". And the final score would be 45-3.

Are any details out about the new TV contract? With ESPN, will we have to have to add ESPNU to see some SEC games? I will not miss Raycom for their quality, but it was nice to have games without spending extra money on your cable service.

Spending a few bucks a month on ESPNU and ESPN Classic will make you a better person.

I could be wrong but I don't think we will. I was under the impression ESPN just got the first choice. Then maybe CBS. I think Raycom may still get a game or two a week. Once again, could be completely off base here.

Jefw, I'm not sure what details you are looking for, but here is a pretty good summary. Brew, I think you are right, but only about being completely off base:p

Raycom is gone, ESPN and CBS will broadcast ALL of the games.

not only that but look how the poll is set up. they have the teams set up on opposite sides of where their poll score counts. i guess their going for the "tug of war" look, but come on, it looks freaking stupid.
