In an academic committee meeting, trustee Crawford Gallimore ....... asked if the board should be recognizing a public figure aligned with controversial research.

A committee will be appointed to search for a new UT president in the board's June meeting.

Leading education think tanks and nonprofits, including the Bill and Melinda Gates and Lumina foundations, are keeping a close eye on Tennessee and the UT system..............the board is shortening the period when the finalists are announced from five weeks to two weeks.


Yeah right, like I want Bill Gates having a say in who the new UT president is. :yuck:

Gore is many things but dumb is not one of them, anyone who can continue to lie about and shove this hoax known as climate change down our throats and make who knows how many millions off of it is not dumb.

If hyperbole and chutzpah had a child, it would be the opening paragraph of Gore's op-ed in Sunday's New York Times.

Gore surfaced from the global warming witness-protection program to opine that despite admissions of error and evidence of fraud by various agencies, we still face "an unimaginable calamity requiring large-scale, preventive measures to protect human civilization as we know it."

CRU director Phil Jones has admitted that temperatures in the Middle Ages may have been even higher than they are today. Jones also confessed that there's been no statistically significant warming in the past 15 years.

More Climategate: This Time It's NASA

Now a new "Climategate" scandal is emerging, this time based on documents released by NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) in response to several Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) suits filed by the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI). The newly released emails further demonstrate the politicized nature of climate science, revealing a number of questionable practices that cast doubt on the credibility of scientific data provided by NASA.

Unfortunately, it seems that the discrepancy privately highlighted by Dr. Ruedy was not coincidental, but part of a broader pattern of misrepresentation on the part of GISS.

The released emails from both the University of East Anglia and NASA illustrate how far the "scientific consensus" on climate change has been politicized -- to the point of unreliability.

Despite all this, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is forging ahead with its politically motivated finding that greenhouse gases endanger public health and welfare and need to be expensively regulated.

Thankfully, as the evidence of the bankruptcy of much of the "settled" climate science continues to accumulate, public outcry may help bring this politically motivated agenda to an end.

As far as I'm concerned awarding Gore an honorary degree is a black mark against the UT board of trustees and the interim president.

Shame on them, this is a disgrace. :nono:
