Assuming he might be interested in staying in the SEC, Brian Maurer could go if USCe could get a "player injury waiver" from the NCAA for him to play this year.

Either way, if their QB room is that thin, there's an SEC landing spot for the kid.

“Put me in coach!…or I’m the coach I’m going in!”

Lol. For some reason this made me think of the time the Wisconsin AD Alvarez coached their bowl game after the head coach left for Oregon State. “No coach? I’LL coach!” Of course, he was the former HC of the Badgers for like 16 years, so it wasn’t too out there.

Being a part of the staff just recently, Norland had a personal hand in putting together the offensive playbook, spent time in the coach's meetings, and assisted with practices with the QBs, until being put on the roster as an active student-athlete. He's also had the most recent playing experience of anyone on the team, having played in the spring with FCS North Dakota State.

Doty was the clear starter coming into the season, and after he was injured it was a tight competition between Norland and Saint Francis transfer Jason Brown. But Norland's familiarity with the offense plus his Power 5 experience against opponents and playing in front of big crowds during his time at Iowa State (prior to transferring to NDS), gave Norland the edge over Brown and the starting nod. After Norland and Brown is true freshman Colten Gauthier.

Doty is already doing limited movement drills in practice, but no pads and no contact. East Carolina in Game #2 seems doubtful but close, and UGA looks the most likely game for his return.

And threw four touchdowns. That's nuts.

Is that an indication that they didn't have a quarterback? Can't recruit one?

His record certainly is not great, but I guess you'd say servicable.
