If Im not mistaken, Hoover HS is a state power...didnt MTV have a docu-series on the team a few years ago?

ANyhoo...when a talent and tradition rich school like Hoover "accidentially" gives a bama recruit the wrong grade, you cant help but to be suspicious...especially since it is bama.

First, I live in Vestavia which is Hoover's arch rival, hated opponent. Just want you to know from the angle of being fair.

Secondly, someone asked who put the pressure on the teacher. It was former vol lb and now bammer assistant coach, recruiting coordinator Kevin Steele. He was allowed to be alone with the teacher for over an hour.

Third, the former pricipal at Hoover is a huge bammmer fan. The new principal is Maryville HS's former principal who was fired for this kind of thing.

Fourth, the hoover program is not only almost always AL state champs, since Coach Rush Propst arrived, they travel nationally and are usually ranked nationally.

Fifth, this is a high school program with a bankroll as big as some D1 colleges.

Sixth, this is the Hoover team that was featured on MTV's 2 a Days the past 2 years.

Seventh, this is a hs football program wanting to be more like a professional football program. egos are wildly out of control.

Finally, and to make the point. The Hoover HS coach looks at D1 prospects at his school as notches on his belt. Combine that with a recruiting starved bammer situation and you get a mess. What we have here folks is a mess and a shame.

If this school thing is true I think it just might be a NCAA violation big time.

The superintendant's comment that a mistake made in a student's favor shouldn't be changed because that would be "punishing the student" is hysterical.....What the hell is wrong with a student receiving a grade that was earned?.....Jeez!!!!!!!!!

One more point to add - An investigation in to grade changes and preferential treatment for football players at Hoover High has been underway for a month or two and should wrap up soon.

There is something about that school that just requires them to try to gain an edge by any means possible, regardless of rules.

Every school pays players to come play for them. It's just the ones that can't hide it as well as others that get caught. I guess Bammers are too stupid to hide their mistakes. Can't wait until they are on suspension again. I wonder if they blame Fulmer this time?

for them, then Bama should not be held to the standards that you contend do not exist anyway.

NOT THE VOLS and the Bammers aren't stupid they just think the NCAA is and they can do what they please without the death penelty being imposed on them (Just because their Bammers) .

Living in Pensacola, all of our tv stations are from Mobile, AL, so I get more Bama coverage than I want. However, let's be real. It goes on at every college that has a large financial stake in athletics. Sad, but true.

and once they caught the mistake, they had already told the player that he was eligible to play college ball at Bama. Instead of jerking him around and telling him he couldn't play, they let it slide. It was a matter of his grade being rounded. What it was, was the school staff and teachers were not in sync with each other on how to round grades. It was an honest mistake, but a dumb one.
