Ok, the season is over, so what does everyone think on who did a better job coaching the running backs? Graham or Gillespie?

Graham did an abysmal job coaching our running backs this year...it was like he wasn't there gotta go with Gillespie

I think our individual RB's improved this year because they were a year older and stronger. I don't think the position coach change was much of a factor. Now the OC changes affect on their stats....different discussion..

Neal clearly ran better this year than last. Don't know if that is coaching or not, but Ibthink you have to give the coach some credit.

I deeply love Tennessee. I'm sick with it. If I am Graham, I don't leave. Therefore I am not qualified to give my 2 cents....

I only watched Gillespie. He was hard, focused, demanded perfection and definitely made our running backs better this year. Gillespie could be one of the best coaches on our staff. However, jury is still out. Next 2 years will tell the truth. In the meantime, Gillespie gets high marks. Congrats to Rajon for over 1,000 yards and for moving up higher on the NFL draft sheet.

I think we have had two good years running the ball in a row, a lot of which can be attributed to the OL. I think both Graham and Gillespie did great jobs, but Gillespie did inherit a much better situation than Graham, who virtually had to start from scratch with the rest of Dooley's new staff.

The question is almost like asking what position you prefer in sex....one might be slightly better, but you're still getting laid and that's what really counts. :p

Can't argue with that.

This year is the best our backs have looked in yrs. Not even close Gillespie by a mile. I'm glad Graham left now because we have a better coach now

I think Gillispie definitely does deserve a good bit of the credit for the improvement of Neal and Lane. Yes they were both a year older, but that doesn't necessarily mean automatic improvement based on experience. It can often mean continuation of bad habits unless a good position coach can not only tweek your techniques, but help you break bad mental habits. I think that is what happened this season with Gillispie. Not trying to knock Graham, just believe that Gillispie was able to break down some of the mental issues, particularly with Neal, which allowed him to become a much more aggressive RB this season.

Gillespie, all damn day long. I'm not even sure you can give the OL much credit for it, either. They were never very good in run blocking compared to pass pro.
