Great article about UT's Wide Receivers

The route running is the biggest thing that concerns me, since very few of our receivers have much experience there. I have no doubt in their receiving skills. Run after catch also concerns me a little bit, but I think that will come in time as they get stronger and smarter with practices.

The talent is there. Young but, after you lose a senior and two juniors to the nfl, expected.

I think with his speed, Devrin moving to WR in the slot is gonna be a good thing and will become a security blanket for whoever our QB is. Welker 2.0! Also in that article, loved this...

Moore, with a follower count nearing 9,000, is active in interacting with recruits on Twitter in trying to expand his own resume for a potential coaching career and help the future of his football program.

"Coach Jones is always talking about in recruiting, it's all about relationships, so we want the guys that are coming here that are going to fit in with the team," Moore said last week. "Obviously I won't be here next year, but I still can help out, because when I do come back, I want to be able to watch the guys that are here that are continuing what we're going to start this year with Coach Jones. It's just all about building relationships with those guys when they come to campus.

3 career receptions in the entire receiving corps? My knees buckled when I read that. Holy Moses.

Dooley might go down as one of the worst SEC coaches in history. One thing I think you will be able to say about him is he was ok at identifying good WR's.

It certainly helps having an experienced o-line. If the running game is there then the passing game should improve with a little time for the young rec's to get more comfortable. Hopefully!

I believe it's obvious that our WRs are being coached up. I mean really coached up. I think we have some big receivers. Both tall and with hefty muscle. I dare to believe these guys are going to be not just catching balls better but running over most corner backs and safeties for extra yardage and scores. All they'll need is a QB who can deliver the ball consistently. I think whether it's Worley or Peterman, we will have that QB on the field. All that's left is a defense that makes he scoring mean something.

Finally, I even believe the concept of having players involved in recruit is also preparing them for future coaching roles whether or not they get drafted into the NFL.

That can't be accurate. Pig alone has more than that. Not sure about Dallas, but I think he's caught one or two at least. Then, there is Jacob Carter and the one who has caught the most, Devrin Young. Yes, I realize he was a tailback, but he lined up at receiver some and went deep for some long gains.

According to utsports.com for UT careers with players listed as WR, the totals are:

Carter - 8 catches
Young - 8 catches
Dallas - 12 catches
Howard - 13 catches

All others listed at WR have zero receiving stats. That's way more than three, but it still underscores the lack of experience. I'm not sure why the article was so off. Every player with even one catch has more than three catches.

Maybe he meant 3 wr's with catches....since Young was a rb.
