Great article, if a little long

good read!

my favorite quotes

I can just picture Mark Richt sending out letters to top football recruits and writing "P.S. Wait until you see the girls in the bars." The women probably account for at least half of Georgia's recruiting ability.

UT Special Teams Motto: Punt the ball, wave at air, hope for flags.

Great read, thanks for the link. The article wasn't too long, I was sorry when it ended.

"Glory, glory Halleujeah and down with Tennessee," sings the entire stadium. This is odd, because earlier I saw tons of old Georgia state flags that featured the Confederate battle flag. Yet, once in the stadium, the entire crowd sings Battle Hymn of the Republic, which is about the North triumphing in the Civil War. Somehow, I bet the loudest singers fly the Confederate flag.

I've always thought that was ironic... but I think they and Auburn both may have played Dixie at games before integration.

Just a thought.

To HELL WITH GEORGIA!

this is a quote from his post on the cal game. just thought it was pretty cool.

29. If you are not 30 minutes early for an SEC game, you are late. Seriously. When I went to college on the East Coast, I was amazed that people at GW basketball games didn’t fill in their seats well before the ball was tipped. I remember asking another student from the Northeast where all the fans were before one game and he looked at me like I was crazy. "The game hasn’t even started yet," he said. The game hasn’t started yet? Please. In Knoxville, this game started over nine months ago when the 2005 season ended. The stadium is full.

DeadlyHippos.com

I discovered Clay's writing last season, and have been reading them since. Knew he would get a job with some site.

His article about Calvin Johnson's mom is hilarous.

""The next afternoon, on the drive back home, I tell Junaid, "Last night I dreamed we scored 51 points." Junaid nods. "Dreamed the same thing," he says""

I liked the last one. It has been so long since we scored enough points deserving notice, this was just funny.

I sent that link to my girlfriend, and it turns out she went to lawschool with both Clay (the author) and Amir (the Elmo guy.)

I had forgotten this, but Clay became famous during law school for some sort of pudding only protest diet. If I can find a link, I'll post it later.

Did he go to UT law? I have a few friends who may know him.

Vandy Law. She was friends with his girlfriend of the time.

It seems like he did something else unusual, like taking a clerkship in the USVI. I'll get the full story later.

Man, that USDC Virgin Islands clerkship is a doozie. One of the toughest to get.

Nice to see another member of the tribe do well.
