The Contenders: Florida - Sunday Morning Quarterback
A couple weeks ago, I started to get into a really, really foolish argument with a Georgia fan who argued on his Sporting News-hosted "blog" that "Tim Tebow is not a quarterback." Not that he isn’t a good quarterback, or, in this specific case, that he’s not a quarterback the NFL will be particularly interested in next April or in 2010 despite the Tebow Child’s prototype size and strength and ability to make panties disappear while curing malaria with his smile. But rather that Tebow’s fundamental duties in Florida’s offense are not akin to those of a typical passer, that he is a runner first, and that Urban Meyer’s offense is a sort of gimmick that takes the heavy mental lifting out of the hands of its "quarterback" and is ultimately a liability to his overall development. Because he occasionally resembles a single-wing tailback and carried the ball twice as often as any other player in Florida’s offense, Tebow just doesn’t do what a real quarterback does.

Isn't the Urban Cowboy's offense entitled "spread option"? I received hell from some quarters when I was trying to debate that title because I was obviously too ignorant of the offensive style. Guess the author of that article should be greatly chastised...

"Think about how far it's come," Meyer said. "We always list our playmakers, and I do it about two hours before every game, sitting in the hotel room. I've done it for seven years. You list your playmakers and who you want to touch the ball. There were times when the playmaker list stopped at about two or three.
"Now, it's going up toward six, seven, eight or nine, which is a good sign."

even UM calls it the single-wing

In how many threads are you going to post the exact same Florida propaganda?

Rex certainly keeps his finger on the pulse of the men in jorts.

I hope Fulmer and company study the Gators as much as our man Rex does.

Is wearing a wife beater a good or bad thing?

Funny as hell story about that, but it probably won't come across as funny in type.

The wife and I ran into Family Dollar the other day to see if there were any good deals on some flower pots she was wanting, well we were in there and this family walked in. Father, Mother, Son and Daughter. The boy immediately runs to the clothing aisle (which in a family dollar is like one of only 10 ailses) so the boy (about 10-12 yrs old) yells in the most southen voice you can imagine, "Daddy, Daddy, I'm going to be over here lookin for some wife beaters!" I laugh, and his parents even laugh. His momma, through her three teeth says, "Oh, you are going to get some wife beaters eh?" And as though they were as important to him as air, the little boy says, "What!? I neeeed um! Daddy, you gonna come help me find some wife beaters!!"......I had to leave the store, It was the funniest thing I have heard in a looooong time.

Sorry, I'm lost again. I thought a wife beater was a guy who beat his wife.

i disagree with the entire premise of this thread. There is absolutely no such thing as a great article with UF as its focus.

Somebody finally realized the truth. Also, I'm now enlightened to the usage of wife beaters thanks to the magic of Google. Tank tops or under shirts.

And, so it was said it shall be. There are no great articles with UF as its focus.

I'm amazed that we are in 2008 and there are people that aren't familar with wife beaters. Certainly not bragging, but we wore them in HS for gym glass almost 10 years ago.

The term is obviously a colloquialism. I'm sure I don't know all of the words in the hillbilly language... :eek:lol:
