As great a player a Diamond could be, she gets way to cute sometimes. She blew 2 wide open layups doing finger rolls, the play she got hurt she got too crazy with the dribbling. Nothing wrong with being aggressive dribbling but she went over the top there. Not only her but I seen a few ill advised passes, we are not good enough to be cute. Having said that they are playing better and while Russell isn't fast we finally have a big that can actually shoot inside. We still need to continue to get better at being aggressive, a few time last night 2 0r 3 would just stare at the ball flat footed. In short remember to attack inside and play smart not silly. GO BIG ORANGE!!!

Did not watch all, but that's basically the first time I've watched in years. The one thing that I noticed compared to years ago, was how they do NOT fight and scrap for rebounds/loose ball.

Aggression goes back to coaching style and that simply isn't Holly's style. Aggression also goes back to practice and you can't be what you do not practice. The thing we need to emulate from UCONN, forgive me, is to play every minute like we are playing from behind. We still have players taking a few minutes off, less than before, which might bite us in the butt. To play winning basketball, at the level of a UCONN, you have to play at 100 MPH, not 98 MPH, but 100 MPH. We have to accept that slow methodical old basketball is dead and gone and is not going to return.

They just watched loosed balls several times, the UCONNS of the world will eat you up for that. Alos when you have a layup don't be cute. Deshields is her own worst enemy, she has to learn to play under control and quit worrying about being stylish. JMHO. Go Lady Vols!

Go back and watch... they played hard and aggressively went after the ball.

There were lapses, a few times early the ball was there around 2 or 3 and they just watched. Look they played much better, but the can't rest on a few good games. the competition is going to play tough and they will have to match it. And Diamond has too play smart.

You need to watch the Virginia men's team in the NCAA tournament. They play pretty methodically and win with great screens and passes. You don't need to play at breakneck speed to be a great team.

Well? All I can say is you and the OP need to send your resumes into Dave Hart. And when you get the job, prepare for the rest of us to slather your butts in BBQ sauce when your strategies and abilities prove inadequate.

Now you are saying we should not play every game with an aggressive style? We cannot benefits if we adopted a style of putting 100% on the floor at all times? I would take the UCONN playing style any day. I might not like Genno but he sure can coach. I don't know you but one thing I can tell you, I do not want you, or anyone else, eating my ars with BBQ sauce you have a strange taste in food. Just not into the cannibal thing. Maybe you have a much better strategy than Genno, if you don't I can promise you I would not touch you BBQ butt with a 10 foot pole.

How many NCAA Championships has Virginia had lately? Don't look it up because it is zero,

I think you're misconstruing his point. All he was saying is that you can be a great team without playing at a break neck speed. I believe you're comparing a great program with a great team. Not really the same thing

Our end of season improvement isn't because of DD. It is because of everyone else.

As soon as she does crap like that Holly should sit her on the bench. DD's biggest problem is she believes her own legend.
