Great negotiating

I'd honestly want the leader of my country with his head on a platter for a deal like this. Am I missing something here? Is there something about this story I don't know about, just do not get it.

I would be confident to say that a lot of people paid for their lives by kidnapping the two soldiers.

Just a hunch though......

So...what is your point? That in no way makes this a deal worth making.

If I am Hamas, I take more prisoners. Hell, give back 2 dead ones for 5 live ones. I'll make that deal all day long.

It isn't obvious?

It is all a PR ploy.... the retribution for the soldiers death has already been extracted.

Don't think for a moment these 5 cannot be tracked now.....

This is classic Mossad..............

Ok. I see your point, if you are correct in that this is their reasoning.

But it is hard to stomach. Has the retirbution for the 4 year old girl's death been extracted also?

Mossad will track them and take note of their movements. They will store this info away until the next strike by Hamas and then use the intel to assign targets for the airforce.

I can only go but what I have read and people that I have talked to.

When the state of Israel was founded it was decided that it would be kept under any means necessary.

If you would like, I can pm a list a books you can read.

Bear in mind, it is not for the faint of heart.

You bet!

This is somewhat similar to the eventual taking of the Golan Heights. Count them.... 18 years before Israel finally got their chance to take them Mossad had the enemy troops mark their gun emplacements and by what you ask?

Trees..... under guise for shade for the enemy soldiers.....

I might be interested in some of those books. Are they going to put me on a list if I check them out from a library?

I am acquainted with the founder of a well known company who is from Israel. He has an assistant/body guard who was in Mossad. You know just by his appearance and demeanor, that you don't want to mess with him.
