Great read on Jones by a former college coach

Thanks for sharing the article. I agree with its author on his feelings about Gruden and Petrino.

After seeing the video of day one & reading this article, I'm now wondering why CBJ wasn't our first choice to begin with. I think he does very well here.

I am for sure more confident in him finding success from day 1 as i was with Dooley having success from day 1 of his hire. Theres much more to like here.

I was very deflated after the announcement initially. I am still disgusted by the fact that we are the type of destination school that gets turned down by HCs at Louisville and OK St. and HC's are willing to abandon in the middle of the night when USC comes calling. Not to mention being made fun of in the national media for many of our fans believing our program is desirable enough that we might be able to attract someone like JG.

As time passes and I read more on CBJ, I am steadily getting on board. It seems apparent that he has been successful at doing much more with less while progressively developing his teams over the course of a season throughout his HC career. I hope that he can do the same with 4 and 5 star talent here and get us back to being competitive again in the SEC. The lingering concern is recruiting though. Players' coach or not, battling for players against multiple, recent NC winning programs is an uphill exercise for the best recruiters in the country. We shall see soon enough how CBJ responds to this challenge. He will have every weapon and tool at his disposal to take the SEC and the nation's recruiting world by storm. Let's fall in line, support the program and see how he answers the challenge. We did it for CDD, I see no reason not to for CBJ.

Go Vols!

Article is pretty dumb if you ask me...

Saying we are better off with Jones than Gruden or Petrino is just ridiculous right now.

People believing this are sheep...
Gruden is Kiffin 2.0? Please!

And I would not want Petrino and his baggage here...
But he would win.

He has my full support and I always pull for the team in orange... but anyone that believes he is better than either of those two at this moment is absurd.

No. Who is absurd is you. Any idiot knows that Gruden wouldn't last more than three years at the max in Knoxville coaching Tennessee provided that he would have even wanted the job to begin with. And then Petrino is a scoundrel and ***hole of a human being. No sir. I can do without those guys, even though I was temporarily blinded by the possibilities of Gruden turning UT into Alabama North.

I think fans will forgive Dave Hart for this hire when he starts winning 9-10+ wins a season for us down the stretch.

I really can't stand this anymore. I have partaken of this forum for quite sometime but have never bothered to post because some one always says what needs to be said. But these Anti-Vols who must be children have about driven me nuts. You people who are so hung on Gruden are really insane. He is a pretty boy on TV. He is not his TV persona, he is a prima dona and we don't need any more of those. We finally have a FOOTBALL COACH who means business and you titty babies need to go back to watching Sponge Bob.
