I was very deflated after the announcement initially. I am still disgusted by the fact that we are the type of destination school that gets turned down by HCs at Louisville and OK St. and HC's are willing to abandon in the middle of the night when USC comes calling. Not to mention being made fun of in the national media for many of our fans believing our program is desirable enough that we might be able to attract someone like JG.
As time passes and I read more on CBJ, I am steadily getting on board. It seems apparent that he has been successful at doing much more with less while progressively developing his teams over the course of a season throughout his HC career. I hope that he can do the same with 4 and 5 star talent here and get us back to being competitive again in the SEC. The lingering concern is recruiting though. Players' coach or not, battling for players against multiple, recent NC winning programs is an uphill exercise for the best recruiters in the country. We shall see soon enough how CBJ responds to this challenge. He will have every weapon and tool at his disposal to take the SEC and the nation's recruiting world by storm. Let's fall in line, support the program and see how he answers the challenge. We did it for CDD, I see no reason not to for CBJ.
Go Vols!
