Though Georgia's best player was sidelined, I thought Tennessee showed what they are capable of. DD played a good game. Russell is too weak in her upper body to win a fight over a ball. She is one of the weakest post I have seen this year. On the aggression scale she is a 2 out of a possibility 25 points.

Though the win was good we still can't celebrate the possibilities of our post season play. Holly should still be on the hot seat. Her like of recruiting and coaching still has us in hole for next season. It was not necessarily the coaching that won this game, but the atmosphere of senior day, this team's dedication to the seniors and the team desire for the seniors not to go out as regular season losers. No matter the reason, this team is in desperate need of a new coaching staff with the ability to both coach and recruit.

Good post. But a huge thanks to the Seniors for their contributions. We dearly love our Lady Vols for Life!

Can't disagree with you teacherdean. However, the LV's need to play every game with the heart and spirit they showed today. Attitude goes a long way in being able to win.

This has been a tough season for me, as I am sure it is for a great percentage of the Lady Vols. My wife and I love the Lady Vols and hope, that somehow, the future can become brighter, but that is going to require some actions by administration. This program deserves to be one of the top programs in the country. For that to happen, on a continue basis we need top level coaching and top level recruiting. If UT becomes weak kneed, and refuse to take any action after the end of this season, based upon a non related sexual harrassment complaint, we may be in for several years of mediocre LV basketball.

Yes Holly Dooley Warlick still should be fired at season's end. One game does not fix anything. Very proud of what the ladies showed today. They, IMO, showed that they are talented players. They just need some very good coaching.

I agree. Great win, but this staff has to go. We need a strong coach that can inspire, make in game adjustments, develop and utilize their talent, runs an offense and teaches. Holly has not shown she can do that consistently. The 2017 class has a lot of talent and we can't afford to strike out or sign a mediocre class. Let's not be deceived also, Georgia isn't all that great either. Still hoping this is Holly's last season.

We were 8-8 in the SEC. Worst record ever I think. One game does not a season make.

This could be the 1st LV team to NOT make the NCAAs.

If we're going to bash for bad losses, I think it only fair we applaud good wins. It was a good win. I want them to find a spark and tear through the SEC tournament. It'd be great sign to see them climb off the mat and get back into it. Holly was right about one thing - it's a tournament sport, and the tournaments are a chance for some redemption. I want them to get some.

Yes, this thread is a bit of a bait and switch; two sentences of "not a bad game" and then reiterating what has been said over and over.

My question is where has this intensity been all season? the team came out on a mission, mostly likely due to wanting to send Graves and Moore out on winning notes.

The challenge for Holly and the team is whether they can continue to play with this kind of discipline, intensity, and focus.

The LVs made shots today which also helped them keep their momentum over 4 quarters (though their 3rd quarter was little shaky, they did not have a precipitous drop off in any quarter which is a very positive change).

But, we know this team is likely to have upcoming games where the shots are not dropping. The question is whether than can still bring the intensity and defensive pressure when they're not getting the adrenaline rush from making shots.

This team seems to play with a lot of emotion, but not always with composure in the face of adversity. They're very emotional about mistakes. I think everything -- the running commentary, the negativity, the media scrutiny, the pressure of 8 banners in the rafters -- I think it pushes down on them a lot more than it might seem. Not that everything should always be positive, or people shouldn't talk, but it's a lot and they're already a team that's playing with a lot of emotion. One win doesn't fix that, but I'm surprised they pulled up from the nose dive. I hope the surprises keep coming.

Yes, let's be fair & congratulate the team for a nice job for Senior Day. :clapping:

Great to see them having fun on the bench for a change (especially their 3-pointer celebrations).

Also saw Diamond doing the low-towel wave (a la Larry Bird) showing some excitement & support from the bench. Nice to see her enjoying herself.

Positive thoughts. Serenity now, serenity now.

You are underlining my point. To call a home victory over Georgia (without their best player) as a "good win" shows just how far this team has fallen. UGH.

Many more "good" seasons like this and we'll struggle to win any games. Meanwhile the best recruits are running in all directions from Knoxville when they used to line up to try and come here.

Easily.. Thank the kids for choosing to come to UT, and juggling the life of a student athlete, and then apologize to them that they had to play for an incompetent coach, and fire her after the season is over.
