We have some really nice pieces in this class, just ranked low as a whole. Hopefully Butch can coach em up and the recruiting classes and teams gets better each season. At this point imo, we can't go anywhere but up!

There are so many who come in highly rated and never contribute on the field but have lots of "off campus" incidents. The opinion of some sports talking head is not everything. Lots of walk-ons have earned scholarships....yadda, yadda.

Solid class that fills some needs.With the switch back to the 4-3 and some solid coaching we should see improvement.

Nice...I dont have as rosey a view as he does, but I definately think CBJ taking a class in the 40's and getting it into the top 25 in a month is commendable. Thanks, GBO!

I agree VolMaster. I do wish we could have landed a top DL, even if he was a JUCO. I'm not going to knock the RB (Jabo). Everyone knows Jay G can coach him up. He might end up being the quick-cut-n-go back we need in this no huddle, up tempo offense.

Yep and let's hope Alden Hill can be a good bruiser like we use to have in the past.

Agree.

But then, we still have the VN tards that will say, "But Auburn finished top 10". Starting at #10 and maintaining top 10 is much different than starting in the 40's and moving to the 20s. Like I said in another thread, I'm a disappointed we didn't do better, but I'm not at all angry with this class.

Would love to get Michael Dyer and maybe a good JUCO DT before spring. One of my fears with CBJ when he got here was that he would be satisfied with mediocre players just to fill up a class. He only signed 21 and didn't fill it up to 27 with players that he didn't believe could compete in the SEC. He did get some walk ons that fit that category, but left a lot of slots open for a great class next year. Will it work? I am hopeful, but wait and see.

Yeah. I think he did it right. And yes a JUCO DT would be nice. Not sure about Dyer. He's talented but can he behave?

Yes, but AU pays their players...:)BTW, where exactly is Dyer? Did not know he was "available".

I'd rather have a 20th ranked class with a coach who can develop the players and coach them up instead of a top 10 class with a coach (Dooley) who can't coach up any player.

bUTch says he is not giving up and is still looking to add DT and OL to this class if he can get good ones.

Would be great to get a couple of the top ones still out there. :run:

I agree 100%. Can't wait to see what real coaching can do for our talent. We still have a roster with talent, now add some coaching and hopefully we all have the product were all proud of.

Exactly. No diseases wanted. But, if he could act like he has some damn sense, then he would be an awesome add. Game-changer.

It's true in the SEC especially you have to have talent. But you also more importantly have to be able to put it on the field and have it execute. I like this quote above as all one has to do is look at Boise ...king State ... Boise ...king State ... consistent winners ... consistently play good football ... for years now ranked higher than us ... how many 5 & 4 stars can't wait to play at Boise ...king State?!?! Butch and bunch are doing good for the 1st year and will do well in years to come is my prediction.
