For the moment I think 07 is, we did alot of great things that year, number 1 ranking for the first time ever, beating Tiger high in Memphis, we set a record for wins with 31 compared to only 5 losses that year, overall it was a great year. But I think if everything goes according to plan this season, winning the SEC Tourney, going to the elite eight and maybe, just maybe going to the final four this will the greatest season. I know it's early and we've played against inferior opponents but the way we're playing I don't think anybody can beat us.

i doubt it. we still have some major deficiencies at the point guard and dropping the 3 ball as well as rebounding so I dont think it can be any better than the team that went to #1 unless they can make an Elite 8 run.

i think melvin goins will help with pointguard play.. as for "the 3 ball" .. 16 threes last game. thats impressive against any team.

asheville was a terrible team. now you have to know that Scotty is not going to hit 6out of 7 threes a night. especially since his last one the miss was like an airball 3 feet to the right of the basket. shooting will be sporatic and streaky. when the boys are on then watch out. but if we are cold welcome back those zones to dice us like last year.

Yeah I was going to say we've been lighting it up from 3 point range. What I'd like to see the team do is improving free throw shooting.

For sentimental reasons, '81-'82 is high on my list.
The last game that year still hurts.

The stretch run in '78-'79 was an absolute blast.

But I don't see this team having a "better" regular season than ''76-77 and '07-'08, which are my two favorite years.

I've been pretty impressed with Maze so far this year. Granted it's been inferior competition, but it's pretty clear he is playing with more confidence and a better grasp of the offense. His defense has looked good as well.

The only meaningful free throws I ever remember Michael Brooks missing. The two one point losses to end the regular season, which cost us an outright SEC title hurt, too.

It's shaping up to be a great season. We have some great players and they seem to be work together well. I would like to see us make it to the Final Four this year. Tennessee has a lot of potential this year.

Since '07 is about the only memorable season since I became a fan, that's my vote. Despite the poor post-season showing, it put Tennessee "on the map" for recruiting and revived excitement in Vols Hoops.
