A completely illegitimate list w/o any Hitchcock on it.

I'll also add that while I'm a huge Hitchcock fan (Vertigo and North by Northwest being my favorites), I don't know that the endings were all the spectacular. Dramatic, yes, but no twists or surprises that really caught me off guard. His movies were just great traditional 3 piece Hollywood movies from beginning to end.

I think I would have included Psycho.

My favorite is Rear Window.

Psycho is good obviously, but i guess it's just too cliche to pick it.

I'm big fans of James Stewart and Grace Kelly yet I had totally forgotten about Rear Window. Grace Kelly also reminds me of To Catch a Thief, another top notch Hitchcock movie...

But I think I better stop before we totally hijack this thread.

I'll add a couple...

Master and Commander, The Far Side of the World

The Princess Bride (especially when Inigo Montoya finishes off the 6-fingered man)

Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

Rocky Balboa

The ending of "Seven" hasn't been mentioned yet. That ending shook me up a bit.

Where is Layer Cake? Never have I had more of a "HOLY S@%!, I can't believe that just happened" ending.
