Green Dot

I've noticed that NFL QB's have a green dot on the back of their helmets. Does anyone know why?

The teams get one helmet with a radio in it and that is how the special helmet is marked.

if you just switch the sticker from one helmet to the next...the helmet with the sticker becomes the one with the power to receive signals.

i'm not totally sure, but i think they get more than one radio helmet, but only one radio helmet can be on the field at one time

If the green dot is face up on the field you know you did your job.

good work vkb... let me rephrase it to say teams are permitted to have one player wear a helmet with radio while they are on offense. ie, if you do something crazy like put in two qbs, one of the qbs has to wear a different helmet.
