have you seen the guy play?? Calling him the second coming of shaq is disgracing greg oden. He will be the best player is college next year, and I suspect he will be a dominant center in the nba in 3 years.

When Greg Oden has been the most dominant force in the NBA for over a decade and won 3 NBA titles, then maybe a comparison to the Diesel will be in order.

hey Im just going with what I have seen from the kid. When the scouts say he is the best highschool prospect in over a decade, which includes lebron james (who btw has a great chance to be the nba mvp this year), that has to mean something. I have seen him play, Its been awhile since I have seen someone dominate the paint on both sides of the floor the way he has.

If Lebron wins it over Nash it will be a huge mistake.

The kid may be talented but saying he will be better than Shaq is a stretch, maybe Shaq at 18. There is a long way to go from where he is now to where Shaq's career will accomplish.

You're insane. I watched 2 of his high school games and was only impressed with his size. That's about it.

Shawn Bradley is about right.

That said, I do think size is emphasized way too much in today's recruiting. Any 7'0" schmuck is automatically at least a 4 star recruit even if he sucks.

lol @ his comments on cutting grass

but he doesnt have the weight that Shaq does. Maybe he'll put on some more weight a year or two from now.

Dude... Shawn Bradley was Shawn Bradley because he was white.

You saying Bradley would've been a better pro if he was black? Manute Bol ring a bell?

he will be a great player, but better than shaq? shaq is taller and the guys only 240, he is skin and bones. He will get shoved around in the NBA. He needs to get in a college weight program for 2-3 years and he'll be fine

No, I'm saying Shawn Bradley had all the tell-tales of white-boy in his game. It just didn't matter how big he was.

Minut Bol... You can't compare him to anybody, that man had some serious health issues.

skin in bones??? have you seen this kid??? he is anything but skin and bones. college weight program for 2 to 3 years?? He is already considered the best player not in the nba right now. He will win the college player of the year award next year, write it down.

Let's be real Charles, he may not be mr. toothpicks Indiana, but he could use 20-30 more pounds before you can call him 'NBA-ready'

i guess he could add 20 to 30 pounds, but i can garuntee he wont be in college for more then one year. there is a reason ohio state will be favored to win the national championship next year, and it isnt because of who they are returning next year thats for sure.

He could use some weight, but that won't take 2-3 years. This coming from alot of people that are saying Joakim Noah needs to jump to the NBA. Brandan Wright is skin and bones, he is also gonna be a top 5 pick in next year's draft. Tyrus Thomas isn't the biggest guy in the world, but he's a likely top 5 pick. He is an athlete for his size, unlike Shaq.

Ohio State will not be favored to win the National Championship.

Ohio State won't win the National Championship with a couple of highly touted Freshman. Write it down, charles2345.

Greg Oden = Manute Bol

For a guy his size, Shaq is the best athlete at his position since Wilt. There's never been a guy(other than Wilt) with Shaq's size with his quickness and agility. He's slowed with age, but he's still quicker than most guys who guard him.

I have never heard shaq, quicknes, and agility all in the same sentence before.... interesting you view it that way. I tend to agree to some extent, but shaq never had to go aginst another dominant center, other then early in his career, which btw, he was handled. I always wondered how he would fair aginst the other greats, but we will never know.

I am not sure that inch is much of a factor, seperating the heights of Shaq, Ewing, and Olajuwan. I would say Olajuwan was a much better athlete at the position than Shaq. Olajuwan could at least score from outside the paint and could hit 70% of is free throws for his career. Shaq just uses his big body, camps in the paint (apparently they stopped calling 3 seconds at the same time they stopped calling traveling in the NBA,) and just dunks it all day. Not all that athletic.
