Not the hire it would've been four years ago, but it definitely could've been worse. People forget that Rutgers was essentially a high school team before Schiano took over.

It's Rutgers. They might not even notice.

Five straight bowl wins! I wish Hammy would have offered him instead of two nobody's.

sucks being a bucs fan

terrible owners

At least they won a championship(unless they weren't the owners at the time). Do you see the teams I cheer for? All have made it to the championship but they've won 0. Titans owner tried and reverted back to not overspending. Pacers owners try and continue to lose money. Astros spent a ton of money and the sucky ass owner finally sold the team. It is what it is but at least the Bucs owners got them a championship. The fans are so horrible that they blackout Bucs, Jaguars and Marlins games. Might want to point your fingers at the fans before you point it at the owners. Two of those three have championships and it didn't take the Jags long to keep as an expansion team. Heck, the year the Titans went to the Super Bowl, the Jags were 14-3 with all 3 losses to the Titans. Coughlin just won a championship and might win another.

Personally, I think the fans are worse than the owners down in Florida. A lot of fans around the country show up during the good and bad. Florida fans never show up during the bad and sometimes they don't even show up during the good. Marlins have been championship contenders and they still only avered 3/10 of their stadium being filled. Pathetic

Why should the owners care when most of the people in Florida don't? Don't be surprised when the Bucs, Jags and Marlins leave. Rays might as well leave too. Florida doesn't deserve baseball teams and outside of the Dolphins, they probably don't deserve the Bucs or Jags either. All they care about are the Heat, Magic and Dolphins. Then whatever college football team is best.

Fun fact: pre-Schiano, Rutgers lost their spring game in 1996 to a group of alumni. They were shut out three times that year.

Buddy we hired a joke. Not one but two!

That's nice. It will fit better in the football forum. Take it there.

As for the Bucs. This will likely backfire. Meh records in the weakest BCS conference doesn't scream "NFL ready" to me. I've been wrong before, though.

Buddy, a guy from the Big East is more than likely going to be worthless. "5 straight bowl wins" is far from an indicator of success, because over half of the teams in the country make bowls. All of the teams Buttgers beat sucked, too.

I lost a lot of respect for him with this move. I think it really screws them with signing day coming. Could be wrong. I know that Rutgers is not great but I feel like they are getting better.
